Tonight I found out that my 35 year old son has a condition known as v-fib.  He is going to be fitted with a vest to shock his heart back in case it quits.  Then he will have to get a difibulator and probably down the line somewhere it will require a heart transplant. 

 

We are devistated by this news and he broke down and cried.  I am trying to stay brave for him but it is so hard. 

 

He just got the job as principal of our local school last year and he is so young to have this facing him.

 

Please fibro family if you believe in prayer, I beg you to remember me and my son.  It has been such a shock to us that it still hasn't registered yet.

 

I never dreamed anything like this could happen to him at this age.  I guess I'm older than I thought.

 Shannon,    I prayed for your son, I know God hears our prayers, and He will be there for you, and your son.

 

It is good that this was found now, and he can be treated.  My brother in-law has one of those defibillators in his chest, and it works really good.

I'm not sure exactly how long he's had it, probably around 10 years.

 

The Lord will see you and your family through this.

 

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

and the peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6-7

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your son. You're right, he is far too young to have this happen to him at this stage of his life, but you know what, God picked him for this and he must have thought he could handle it.

Hang in there, I am sure your son will be able to cope. I am praying for you both.

I copied the tag line from hisfaithful1 because this scripture has helped me through many times. Our God does answer prayer and has a plan for each of us. My prayers go out to your and your son. This is a very hard time for you, no doubt. Stay strong in your faith and I ask God to heal and take this burden from your shoulders.

Dear Shannon, I am so sorry that you and your son are having to go through this. It is so much harder to see our children suffering than when it is us. I will definitely have you both in my prayers.

Shannon, I'm so sorry your son is having to go through this; I know it must be very scary for all of you. I am thankful that it was caught, and there is treatment. I am hoping that "down the line" treatments will improve and a transplant won't ever be necessary. I'm sending up prayers for him and your family.

Shannon, I'm so sorry about this.  Of course I'll pray for you and your entire family.  It is a shock when things like this happen.  But, don't project yourself in the future because you don't know what the future holds.  There are so many advancements in medicine happening.  He could receive the defibulator and a few years later they might have something that will correct his problem!

Please know that your Fibro family has you and your family uplifted in prayer. I can't even try to comprehend the pain that you are dealing with. Just know that we care and are here for you!!!

I'm sorry this has happened. It is all so new, of course you're all going to be terribly upset about it. But I hope that over time, the conviction to fight and win will kick in. Yes, he is young, but youth is in his favor because his body will be stronger when he works with his doctors. It is in his favor, too, that the discovered it. He can work with the doctors to put safety nets in place. Whatever the future holds, just keep moving forward and meeting it as it comes. Right now it is too fresh and scary - but somehow you'll find your way forward.

Just wanted to say "thank you from the bottom of my heart'!  You don't know how comforting it is to have friends like you all.  Last night when I posted about my son I was nearly out of my mind, but as usual you all came through for me.  It touched my heart to see the outpouring post that came in for me in my time of trouble. 

 

I most certainly believe in the power of prayer and the more people that are praying, the more I think our Master hears.  I'm leaving it in his hands because he says he will bare our burdens. 

 

My son feels a little better today and thinks the meds may be kicking in.  His doctor assured him when things all get taken care of that he will feel like a new person.  He has felt run down now for some time and maybe things will be better for him.  We will just have to take it one day at a time and trust in God.  I do have the faith that he will see us through.

Shannon, I was so saddened when I read your message about your son. That must have been a dreadful shock for him and all the family.

I am praying for God to touch your son with His healing hand and to remove all illness from his body. Lord, if it be your will, please use this situation to draw all of Shannon's family and loved ones together, to help her son fight this battle. Please give Shannon peace and comfort as she waits for more news...give her all of Your comfort Father.

I just said a prayer for you!! God most certainly hears and is here to comfort and give us strength. We may not always understand his plans, but we can trust in His perfect plan. Hugs!

Bridget, I too am overwhelmed by the people that still believe in prayer.  I do not want to offend anyone that is a non-believer because I love everyone of my fibro family no matter what their belief.  That is everyone's right and I respect it.  I am a believer and have the faith that God is going to see us through this trial and we will be stronger in the fight. 

 

The shock of the news has worn off now and we all have a positive attitude.  My son is feeling a little bit better and if the meds work he won't have to get a difibrillator/pacemaker.  He is going to have to come home in a device called a "life vest" and wear it for three months.  It will shock his heart back into rhythym if it stops.  The thing that really scared us was the dr. mentioned a heart transplant down the road.  I know that's not a death sentence but it is scary and I pray that the meds will help heal everything.

 

Hope everyone has a pain free Sunday. The sun is shining bright in the hills of Kentucky.  All is well and God is in his heaven.
