Savella and Wellbutrin??

Hi...I just joined today. I found this site while trying to find information about taking Savella and Wellbutrin at the same time. I am just over 3 weeks into taking Savella. This is the 3rd med in the step process for me. Neurontin and Amitryptiline (spelling?) caused me more problems so now we are trying this. I am only at 25 mg once a day but will be increasing next week. I was told the optimal dose is 50 mg twice a day. I am nervous about it because the side effects were a bit rough for me but I got through it with the hope that it will eventually help the pain.  The thing is that it seems to be affecting my sex drive...and that just can't happen. It is hard enough to be intimate without adding more problems. I was told today to talk to my primary dr about adding Wellbutrin to balance out the negative side effects but then you have a whole other bunch to deal with. Have any of you ever combined these 2 meds? If so...good results or bad?? I would appreciate any advice. I get so frustrated some days, as I am sure you all do. I hold out hope that they will find a med that will help with the pain. I just hope it is soon. My dr has told me to apply for disability but they say I am not eligible so I don't know where to turn. We need a second income. I struggle with the guilt of not being able to contribute...even tho my hubby tells me not to worry...yeah right. I hope something will work soon and maybe I can get feeling better so I can find a job. Nothing like setting my sites high huh?

Thanks Karen. My denials were not based on medical condition. They said I didn't have enough points in the last 10 years so wasn't covered by disability insurance. So they processed an SSI application. That however is a needs based program were you have to meet income guidelines that are comparable to food stamps. My husbands income counts as mine and even tho we are a one income family of 3 with major medical bills and car payments, rent and the rest of basic bills, and are barely getting by...they don't care what you have to pay. It is all by gross income and we are 400 a month over the limit so I am not eligible. Even tho medically I should be able to get it...I still can't. I don't know how else to approach it except to hope I can get this pain under control enough to be able to work again someday soon.

As for the 101...yes I did go to that. I read most of the links but still have a couple to cover. I have to limit my time at the computer...or pay the price later.

Thanks for the welcome. I am not sure if the Savella is causing the sexual issues or if it is just from me being in so much pain that things dont' want to work right. I guess I will have to wait till next month and talk to the dr about it...or maybe see the OB gyn.

The side effects were pretty severe for about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Now it is hot flashes and dizzy only once in a while. Tummy pains but not sure if that is just my IBS or still the meds. I am hanging in there and hopeful. Dr says I will go thru the side effects each time he increases the dosage so not too excited about that but will take it as it comes. I hope it works as well for me as it did for you. Did you go up to the full dose of 50 mg twice a day? And are you still taking it??

My insurance changed and wasn't covering it.. so switched to LDN. I would have stayed on it if it still covered it. But in a way.. I'm kinda glad it did. I was having an internal furnace problem.. I could put up with it but it's really a P.I.T.A. when your getting hot flashes on top of that. Worked great though.
