Never ever easy to do but always, always the right decision. I'm crying too, Cajun, and sending so many hugs your way.

Hi Cajun, dont ever feel like you have to be strong at times like this. Allow yourself the time to greive for he was a member of your family. I wish there was something I could say to take away the heartbreak you are feeling right now. The only thing that cuts the pain is time as with any death of a loved one. Please know that I am praying for you and I do understand the pain that you are going through.
Gentle Hugs

Sending you prayers.
I can only imagine how hard this is.
I have a small dog that is my baby.
She is spoiled rotten.
I couldn't have children so she is literally my baby.
I don't even want to think about
it if I had to put her down.
Sending you big hugs.

Cajun, my heart goes out to you. I've been there and done that and it's horrible. I had my previous dog, Samantha, for 16 years and when we had to put her down, I cried for over a year off and on. These pets become certified members of our families and it is never easy. But, you did the right thing. So many times the "right thing" is the very hardest thing to do. But your pup is in no more pain. You will always love this dog...no matter how many other dogs you may get. I adore the dog I have now, she dried up my tears for Samantha, but I'll never forget Samantha. Your memories , I'm sure, are wonderful. I'm glad you had each other for many years.

I know that it was a difficult decision but you did the right thing. It would have been way more painful to watch him suffer until the end. Sending you a big hug. Lisa

I am so very sorry for your loss and the pain you are feeling now. You need to grieve, as with any loved one, grieve the loss. As others have said, he was a member of your family, well loved, and much missed. It takes time for the pain to lessen. Please remember you did the right thing
gentle hugs,

CajunGrl,
I'm sorry. I know it hurts so bad. Time will help, but of course you will always miss him....that's what love is.

Hi Cajun,
This is a hard post. I lost my Dharma in November of last year, I still cry about
her. I am crying right now... But I got Jasmine, the one I sent you a photo of, and it helps. Think about
getting another baby to take the pain away. If you are up to it. It really does help. Though they can't replace the one we lost, they sure to help to take the pain away.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hugs, Karen

Thanks everyone. It's so weird losing an animal you've had for so long because I am still looking for him when I go downstairs, then I remember he is gone. My husband has been doing this too. The feeling is horrible when it hits. UGH! We are okay though. We've been trying to keep our minds busy so we don't think about
it as much. I usually pray for all of my family and animals, and this is another time that it hits me hard because I find myself still wanting to pray for him. I know it will pass in time though. I had to go through this when I lost my dad last year. I know it gets better with time.
