Can I just scream for a minute???

Oh wait...no maybe I can't...costrochondritis pain is already bad. I am sorry...I am just frustrated and I have heard this is the place to throw it out of my body and onto paper.

 

 Most days are rough...but today was bonus day I guess...lol. On top of a huge week long flare...I was pretty sure I was getting a yeast infection. Not fun...no further descriptions needed...pretty sure nearly every woman out there knows how enjoyable that is...lol. Sooo....trying to get that under control and my hubby comes home last night and says..."Oh my gosh...look at this...it hurts...what is it?" Now I really freak out cuz in all of my bouts of female wierdness...they have never affected him. So...off to urgent care I went today. It was apparently my lucky day and doc says it is a 2 for one special...lol. I also have a pretty bad urinary tract infection to go along with it...who knew...lol. She says well didn't you notice the pain and tenderness in your pelvic/low back/kidney areas?? Hmmmm....let me think about that for a second....YEAH...along with the 32 other places that I have pain and tenderness!!! It is really hard to know what is fibro pain...and what isn't. I have been in so many times for that exact spot of pelvic pain and had tests and every time they say it is IBS. So gee why didn't I rush to the dr cuz I feel pain....aaarrrgggg....lol.

 

If there ever was a funny part to all of this is it hearing my dr say that every man should have at least one yeast infection so they can understand a little better what a woman goes through. It was funny but I still wouldn't wish it on him. The twisted part is that while I am curing them...the antibiotics will give it back to me and I will be treating it again. Ok...sorry if this was all a bit too personal...but it just all kinda overwhelmed me today...and the stress and discomfort in general have really kicked my butt. Pain is pretty bad...and frustration wasn't far behind. Thanks for giving me a place to babble.

Sorry, I had to laugh about the 2 for 1 special! I have had my share of yeast infections, though, and it's no laughing matter. I've often wished my husband could feel what it was like, even if just for an hour. I've also been to the gynocologist about 50 times for pain and itching, and they never know what to make of me....it's "nothing."

I've never had a UTI, how I don't know, (but now that I've said that I'll probably get one. That's how it usually goes.)

Hope you can find some real relief soon :) whatever that may be!

Thanks guys...I actually did feel alot better after getting that off my tender, inflamed chest...lol. I really hate when I get so frustrated but it seems to happen to all of us at one time or another. It is nice to have a place where people understand and will allow you some space to at least try to scream...lol. My hubby is so sweet and is very understanding...but I don't think he really understands just how bad it can be. I love him and am so thankful that he is good to me. So I do feel bad that he has to suffer with me...but the dr's comment was hillarious...lol. I did get some stuff for him to use too so that is good. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy...let alone my sweety...but like Acheybody said...maybe just for an hour...lol.

CajunGirl...where would you get Probiotics?? and how expensive are they?? If I can afford it I will try them. Anything not to get another bonus yeast infection...lol. Thanks again to all of you...I am not used to having people who understand.

Acidophulus (sp) helps ward off yeast infections too. I believe it is a probiotic, not sure. But it is natural.

What Sherrine and Karen said are good places to start. I like the refrigerated kind because the bacteria are alive still. I get mine from a friend that works for a supplement company but you can get a good one from the health food store.

sobermommy, So sorry you are dealing with this. I can relate. I've just been going though the same thing, except for the sharing it with my husband part. :) UTI turned kidney infection came first for me a couple of weeks ago, and now hopefully finishing with the aftermath of the strong antibiotics they had to use to clear the infection up. One thing after another...ugh. I haven't had to deal with either of those things in so many years I can't even remember, but I'll gladly wait as many again or never is just fine with me!

You shouldn't have an issue with probiotics and your medications. They are good bacteria that are already naturally in your body, and only larger doses of what is in yogurt.

I hope it all clears up for you soon. I know what you mean about being willing to just dismiss new pains as related to what you deal with on a daily basis. I get frustrated and figure that even if I do go to the doctor, they will probably just tell me it is the fibro without looking into it much to start with, so I tend to wait several days to see if it gets worse before I even consider calling. That is how I wound up with the kidney infection instead of the simple UTI.

I agree with you about the other site...lol. I rarely get a response...I signed up on there along time ago and hadn't been back for a while but thought maybe that one would be active too...NOT!!!! I did connect with some very sweet people by responding to thier posts tho...so that was nice. I definately like this place...everyone is helpful and supportive. Thanks for the info...I will have to try to get some on payday. Do you only take it while on antibiotics...or regularly?? I am on Bactrim right now so hopefully this is one of the rare few that doesn't for me. I don't know why I can never remember which one didn't...lol.

I hope you are feeling better. She says my kidneys are very tender and inflamed but didn't call it a kidney infection. Honestly I don't know how you would tell how far it has gone. Either way...it hurts and I will be happy when it doesnt'. I was pretty overwhelmed thinking that pain was all part of the fibro...and why am I taking these stupid pills if I am gonna hurt worse...lol. Yes ...a bit of a fit on my part but it happens evey so often...lol. I had put it off for more than a few days too. I kept using the dr's pat answer...it IBS...and pretty much convinced myself. All weekend of camping it hurt really bad...oh I must be constipated...wow did I do a great job of blowing myself off. I will have to be more aware next time. Thanks again for the advice.
