nerve pain?

I'm having this strange, painful feeling in my left hand but cannot find the words to describe it, fibrofog in full force, can someomehelp me out and describe what nerve pain feels like?

Hi saintsfan, from time to time I will have nerve pain, I will get sensations that
feel like I'm getting stuck with a sharp needle...quick, sharp, sticks.

Sciatica is another type of nerve pain...that pain can be excruciating,...a shearing
type pain. Other pain is muscular or joint pain and mine feels crushing and or
throbbing and then there are muscle spasms that feel pulsating.

If this is a new symptom for you make sure you mention it to your doctor.

For me, I get alot of dull, achey along with the sharp pangs of pain. Sometimes I feel like my nerves are on fire they hurt so bad. The only thing that helps me is heat, but I know not everyone feels that way. I have a large lump on my left wrist that is extremely painful. The pain radiates from the lump, which is just below the base of my thumb, up to the tip of my thumb and then all the way up my forearm to about my elbow. I'm sorry you are in pain. I hope you can get some relief soon.

Thanks Deb and Robin. It was a sharp, tingly pain but for the life of me I couldn't find the words to explain it to my husband last night. The fog has been terrible this week.

Sometimes it doesn't involve pain.  I get feelings like a bug is running across my arm or like water is running down my legs.  Also, I'll get cold "patches" on my skin and patches that feel like my skin is wet but it isn't.  This is all nerves, I believe.

Saintsfan, sometimes I get what feels like sharp pains that shoot down my left arm from my shoulder and they go all the way down to my hand. When that happens it almost feels weird like I just have to let my arm go limp for awhile because it really hurts to even try to move it. Usually after I let it limp for about 5 to 10 minutes its ok after that. But it just feels like really sharp pains like someone is stabbing me with a knife. My elbow is usually pretty sore after that for awhile but its realloy weird and hard to explain how it feels, just like yours.

hi saintsfan, i also suffer nerve pain. it can be really bad at times so i do sympathies with you.
i do hope you get a little better soon.
sherrine- i too have cold patches on my arm and legs most of the time isnt it so annoying !! i also get the wet feeling you spoke of but i have to tell you i didnt know what caused both of these. i often wanted to ask my gp what they could be or what caused this, but to be honest i didnt like to as i feel im always asking him silly questions that he never has an answer to.im so pleased to finnally find out what this is. i would like to thank you all as im learning a lot here due to everyone sharing so much. i also suffer nerve pain all over my body its like the nerves all over are standing on end.when i went to the pain clinic they said the pain was nerve pain and i was so surprised as i never knew there was different ways nerve pain could show itself.i take gabapentin for this pain and they really works well, without them im as my wits end. anyway i didnt mean to go on so one last thanks to you all for sharing.
