Hi, Isisstar, and welcome! I'm so glad you found us and joined in. I'm glad your doctor ruled out other illnesses first. That's so important. Many of the symptoms of fibro are similar to other illnesses that can be treated, like Lyme disease, lupus, etc. There is a link in Fibro 101 called What Else Can It Be. You will see what I'm talking about.
I have found that malic acid/magnesium supplements and vitamin D3 supplements help me with my pain. There are links in Fibro 101 all about these and how they work in the body. This has helped other members, too, but with fibro, what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. But if you read those links and think you want to try it, bounce it off your doctor. I did.
You have gotten great advice on exercise from Debbie and Shirley. Gentle exercise is best for fibro...things like walking and swimming. If you find you can do other things and it doesn't cause you a lot more pain, then go for it! There are some good stretching exercises on Fibro 101, too, that can help. But, if you sit or lay too long, you will be stiff as a board and have more pain.
Moist heat helps too. Hot showers are wonderful. Some have Bed Buddies. You can get these at Walgreen's and other places or you can make your own by taking a tube sock, filling it 2/3's full of raw long grain rice, and tying a knot at the end. Pop it in the microwave and it gives off moist heat due to the moisture in the rice.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help one another. I hope to hear more from you soon.
