update on My Catheter Ablation

Thank you so much for all the prayers and well wishes!!!! It really helped so much yesterday to know I had so many people wishing me well through the day. They were able to trigger the arythmia right away and fix my heart right way. It was done in less then two hours, including prepping me. The doctor considers it a full success, as do I. I instantly felt like I could feel oxygin coming back into my body and brain, and that my heart was working right again. I keep waiting for my heart to race and it isn't. My chest and groin are very sore and I am extremely tired but otherwise I am well. I feel I am finally on a road to recovery. Even with my fibromyalgia I am a fairly active person that is until this summer when my heart went haywire. The Doc says I was born with this problem and that it comes and goes and this time it decided to just stay stuck which is why they discovered it finally. It was most likely the savella which triggered it into permenant trycathia but no one will ever know for sure. I also was granted permanent disabillity for both mental and physical SSI today. So today has been a very blessed day for me. I also found my house keys and my insurance card I have been missing for weeks, lol. Again thank you so much for all the kind and wonderful thoughts and prayers it ment so much to me and my family.

This is great news, Moon!  I'm glad they found the problem and could fix it that quickly!  wonderful!  I'm sure you will be feeling better because you are now getting oxygen in your system properly.  I'm very happy for you.

That sounds like the same surgery my son is going through on the 6th of October.  I have nearly worried myself sick over it.

SouthernLady: if your son is having a cathetar Ablation it is not that bad really. The hardest part was the iv's, honestly. I am recovering very well. the groin incisions which have no stiches hurt some and I have a td bit of chest iratation but that is it. I will take this over the faiting and ceizures and heart palapations from h-e double hockey sticks I have been having for over six months straight. I have had them my whole life but this time they were not stoping they were just getting worse at 34 my doctors knew they had to do something. My blood pressure runs way too low for drug therapy so this was my only choice. Whether they did something wrong and I needed a pacemaker, or it didnt work I would have needed one. Thank God it worked and I don't. Now my heart is calm and I may even gain some weight back and be active again once I heal. I am looking forward to having my life back. It has been a horrible summer of almost complete bed rest for many many months and thinking I was just losing my mind. Docs at first thought it was just panic attacks, they have thought that since my early 20's. Come to find out I may have never had a panic attack in my life.

Again Southernlady your son is in my prayers. Heart doctors and Nurses are a whole nother bread and are so wonderful and caring. He will be in wonderful and thorough hands.

Moonmatrix, I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to  disguss this with you.  It's made me feel much better. 

 

My husband had this similar thing done about 15 years ago but they never mentioned it being an ablation at that time.  He had Wolf White Parkinson Syndrome and they had to do the same procedure with a lazer to burn the extra by-pass out.  He did great, but when my son mentioned "frying his heart"  I really went crazy.  I think maybe it was blown out of proportion.  I've been reading on the internet about it and it sounds like just what you and my hubby had. 

 

My son started passing out last May but the hospital lost his records and we didn't know anything was wrong until the second week of school.  It has all been so sudden.  How old did you say you were?  He is 35.  Him having V Fib is why they say he has to have a defib/pacemaker even after the ablation.
