chest pain

Hi my friends,

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.  I have this pain that wraps around my chest.  The pain is just below my breasts, at my bra line. It wraps around my entire body & it feels like I have a really tight, uncomfortable bra on.  Sometimes I feel as though I'm not breathing in full breaths because of it.  Like I'm breathing really shallow.  Or another way I can describe it (for you guys out there as well) is that someone is giving me a REALLY tight bearhug.  It's fairly constant.  Has anyone felt that?  I don't remember it being a symptom of Fibro.  Maybe it's more the RA..hmmm.  Anyone have any ideas, or thoughts on this?

It does not radiate down my arm and I don't have symptoms of heart trouble. I've already ruled that out.

Sounds like costochondritis. I have it too and it is very painful. I did go see my dr.. He did an ekg to be sure it wasn't my heart. It is scary.

Deb, I have costochondritis and it is very painful. I recently had the 'band' around the chest feeling. It was new and different. I mentioned it to my dr. I was in such a flare at the time that he gave me a medrol pack to take. (If I could have tolerated the steroid shot, I would have gotten that.) After taking the steroid pack, I do feel better. The 'band' is not there right now.

I have found that I can not tolerate a bra with underwires at all. I barely tolerate a bra to go out in public, but I do. At home, I am liberated though. LOL

Yes, it absolutely drives me crazy to wear a bra.  When I take it off I feel as though I still have it on.  It's really aggravating.  I'm so glad I could get feedback from you gals.  I've tried to do some light stretching to see if that make s it feel better.  But it doesn't really.  Heat does help, so spending alot of time on my heating pad.

I guess there's not much else we can do for it like you say.  I already take perocet for pain.  Does it come and go for most of you or is it constent?
