I know I'm the worst right before bed...and also in the morning. It's like my muscles say, "I've HAD it!!!" I resorted to getting a pillow top bed, put a foam egg crate on top of that, and then put a fiber bed on top of that! A fiber bed is like a feather bed but you can wash it. Now, I can get comfortable...but it does take a while. When I lie down, it's like I'm lying on a badly bruised body and sometimes the muscles will spasm. Not fun. But stressing over it will make your muscles tighten even more and you will feel worse. I turn on the TV in my bedroom to something that is generally boring and that puts me to sleep. As the night goes on, my pain is a little better, but I get up several times a night so I think that helps, too.
Running after children counts as exercise, too! Cleaning the house, shopping...any type of movement helps. I know it hurts to walk at first but if you persevere, I think the pain will lighten up. I think because we hurt, we don't want to move and cause more pain. But, that really isn't helping us one bit. We need to do the opposite....slowly and gently. This is what I've found out living with fibro. Start doing the gentle stretching exercises in Fibro 101. They are easy, can be done sitting down, and will help keep the muscles more flexible.
I hope you are having a better day today.
