Hi everyone,
I just wanted to remind everyone (especially the newer people) that the "standard" dose of any med is not necessarily the right dose for those of us who are very sensitive to alot of meds.
I have been struggling with painful knees and feet for several months. Since I haven't been able to tolerate NSAIDS for many years (it really burns my stomach and gives me diarrhea), my only option to treat the pain was tylenol (which didn't help) and ice on it several times a day.
A couple weeks ago I thought "hey.......if I'm really sensitive to things, why not try 1/4 tablet a day and see how that works." Why didn't I think of this sooner??
So far, so good! I occasionally get a little twinge in my esophagus, but it goes away. I was on it 4 days, then stopped 4 days, now I'm back on it, and this regimen seems to be working without side-effects (knock on wood!).
I'm also on a very small dose of sertraline (zoloft), and a very small dose of a beta blocker. A couple docs have told me these aren't high enough doses to help, but they're wrong. They are exactly what my system needs.
So please don't accept that you have to be on the "standard dose", for something to work. In fact, many times its too much, and we give up because of the side-effects.
Just wanted to mention this.
