Hi BeachMom
You have one of the most important things....a dr that listens and I hope that also means is willing to work w/you.
I'm sure you have gathered that there is no one pill/drink/lotion/etc that will help each individual who has fibro.
I am 73, diagnosed 10 yrs ago and have been fortunate that the tramadol has helped me all these yrs. It did take trail and error...was put on a couple of different ones along w/trying different combos, when lo and behold my dr then said let's try Ultram (tramadol is the generic) and it was the one.
Another important thing, is that you found this site at the beginning and it helps 'talking' w/people with the same thing.
Just remember, it is your body and only you will know what works to help you. There are other things that help besides the meds and you will have to research and decide what you can/can't and, yes, don't want to do. Diet, exercise (the right kind), yoga, meditation along w/the meds will help you get back and keep the quality of life you desire.
Another thing I do is laugh, laugh every chance I get...it's wonderful. rmn
