Fibro Hitting Hard Today!

Sorry you feel so bad today. I have had the shortness of breathe too. I wish I knew why I had it but I think it was due to fatigue and pain.

Staying positive is something that is hard to do when you feel so bad.

Kat, sorry for your pain. When we are hurting are muscles tighten, so it is important
to keep active and use heat. The stress of pain can cause anxiety, It is important
to learn to relax or take time for relaxation during the day. Many of us are naturally
shallow breathers. You can rid your body of stress by doing deep breathing excer-
cises. I do deep breathing and meditation daily and it helps reduce stress and
pain. This along with exercise have helped me more than anything.

Stress tightens muscles, not allowing adequate blood flow and we hurt all the more,
by doing what we can to eliminate the stress we can reduce our pain.

Hi Kat, sorry you are dealing with the shortness of breath.I got that once in awhile when I was working and it is frustrating. Robin is right about taking time to do some deep breathing and relaxation exercises. They do help. I hope this goes away for you soon.

Today my fibro is really hitting me hard. Man I am shaky, and weak and tired. I have also been using my inhaler cause I am having pretty bad shortness of breath!  My mother is worried about the shortness of breath, they have done an xray and stuff but found nothing so I was givin a inhaler and they just said anxiety. Anyone else get shortness of breath with fibro? I dunno just one of those days staying poitive like i was yesturday but having a hard time. Man muscles are so weak!

Kat, i am a new member i have had fibro/depression since 2004 i have alot of bad days i have had some shortness of breathe, but my problems is that i got addicited to the pain medications they gave me and my life went downhill from their. I am now off all pain meds. and am on suboxone for the cravings and life is somewhat better i have learned how to tolerate the pain. The worst part about this disease is u have to push your self each and everyday no matter how hard things are. i am 40 years old with a 20 month old son and he is what keeps me going!! please let me know how you are doing today and hope my words make u feel better!

I would assume that Shortness of breathe would make sense as lung are muscles, and if all your muscles are sore and spasmic..what makes your lungs any different. I am just getting over a serious bout of pneumonia. During all the testing, bloodwork..my PCM was concerned that my WBC were normal even though I had severe inflammation and infection in both my lung (chest x-ray & CT scan confirmed), however my eosinophilis were sky high..indicating asthma?? I don't have asthma. Does anyone else have abnormal blood counts and a non-reactive immune system. I am now going on 6 weeks with a fever and sweats/chills, with cough & difficulty breathing. I have more questions than answers...why isn't my immune system trying to an infection?? Does anyone else have trouble fighting infections???
