Anyone Work from Home?

I am on sick leave - two weeks, now but expect this to go on for at least 3 mos.

Good ol' FMS.

Have any of you found half decent work you can do from home? I'm not expecting to get rich or start a multi-national company - just something to help me with the fun stuff in life: like rent and food. I'm just looking for ideas.

Just don't fall the for ads for medical transcription that say you can sit in your pajamas all day and make $40,000 a year. At-Home Professions is one of the worst companies about this.

I worked as an MT for 20 years and at home a lot of that time so that I could take more breaks and could control my environment better since I'm so sensitive to everything, but medical transcription has changed so much since then that I discourage anyone from starting a "career" (and I use that term loosely) in transcription. Most is is now dictated by the doctor as voice recognition and the MT is now an editor who has to listen to the entire report and correct mistakes that voice recognition has not caught (such as right vs wright, etc.) and they now make HALF what they used to do when they were typing the whole report from scratch. Stay away from transcription. It's a nowhere, dead-end, sweatshop job unless you own your own successful company, and even then you can be underbid and lose your contract at the drop of a hat. That is what happened to the woman I worked for in 2006. Two months' notice and I was out of a $34,000 job. And the pay scale only went down from there.

I wish i had a home job it would be great .. i never looked for one though my sis has a job ware half the work is done at home but she transfers paper files to computer for a living for companys upgrading there old files to electronic.
