Does anyone know if there is a link with tinnitus and fibro?  I get it off and on and 20mg Endep at night seems to bring it on more - I usually go to sleep with the sound of an iron foundry in my head.

I have Meniere's disease and have tinnitus but that 'ringing' is a usually a hum.  I am weaning off Valium at the moment and the sound is a high pitched screeching and it is worse when I wake up and go to bed.

Yes, tinnitus is on the list of symptoms of fibro.  Neat, huh?  I have a severe hearing loss and I have tinnitus all of the time and is background noise for me.  It makes it more difficult to understand people, too.  You will learn to ignore it.  If I think about it, it's louder!  I have to ignore a lot these days...the older I get.

Boy, that's the truth! My list of "have to do's" keeps impinging more and more on my "want to do's" until it seems that's ALL I do! As for humming, or ringing, I have it too, but I probably don't notice it that much because I always have a song in my head...:) Right now it's "The Rainbow Connection."

A lot of meds bring on tinnitus, some you would not expect. I have it now, am currently blaming Cymbalta. I got it from a couple of muscle relaxants, also from Crestor and Lipitor. It's pretty common from aspirin. I've had it from some pain meds also.

For me it's a high pitched squeal like radio static or interference. I keep a TV or a radio on during the day to cover up the annoyance.

I've had tinnitus for years and vertigo issues on an off as well. Lyrica made the vertigo imossible to live with it, so I stopped taking it. Newest issue is pulsatile tinnitus - hearing my pulse/heartbeat in both ears while laying down. I'm having parotid gland pain and swelling on both sides so that may be causing it. Will ask doctor at next appt.

Thanks guys for your comments about tinnitus. I'll try to get my iron foundry in tune with "Rainbow Connection" with a Kermit accent to make me smile. I think I will be able to do it! Thanks for the tip.
