Hi Ms. Wright,
I began suffering from Raynauds long before my fibro came along so I feel like I've come up with a pretty good strategy for the cold weather. I find that wearing thick wool socks/doubling helps sometimes, but I basically live in my Uggs from now until March. I am actually wearing them for the first time today! It's a bit of a joke around the office because everyone knows that they won't come off my feet in the winter, rarely will I wear professional work shoes when it's cold :) I have found that a regular pair of athletic socks with the Uggs keeps me pretty warm. If you don't have a pair of warm lined boots, there are a lot of brands selling boots/shoes with the warm linings. When the snow comes I have my heavy duty waterproof sub zero boots with warm lining as well because nothing is worse than soaking wet freezing feet!
As for gloves I learned years ago that mittens were better. It helps keep the heat between the fingers better. I usually have to wear glove liners with the mittens but they seem to do a much better job in keeping the fingers warm than gloves. For the past few years I have gotten the mittens that have the separate fingers and the tops that pull down so I have use of my fingers when I need them. I wear these with glove liners as well.
Hope these tips help. Try to stay warm!
