Hi emafromidaho...
Although I live in Washington state, my family comes from north/central Idaho...Benewah county and St. Maries. Nice to meet you.
It seems you're discovering many of the faces that fibro wears as we all are doing. Even though some have had fibro longer than others we never seem to be amazed at some of the new 'tics and dings' it imposes on these poor bodies of ours. Unfortunately there seem to be an equal number of unseemly people out there very willing to take advantage of us. They seem to think that by making our wallets lighter by removing money that we will instantly feel better...NOT!...lol
There is good medical research being done and some slow progress is being made as to what might be the cause of fibro. Have to know what causes it to treat it best and hopefully one day find a cure. Until then we are under attack some days by charlatans and con artists preying on the fact that there aren't any great solutions yet. There are some good treatments although none are perfect nor seem to be reasonable for long term pain relief. But as far as magnets...how can they claim to treat something when no one knows exactly what it is? My opinion is...use the money for chocolate. The endorphins it releases will go much farther in relieving your pain and improve your well being. ;-)
Oh, I'm another with light sensitivity, skin tenderness, and temperature sensitivity. If I'm in a warm shower and someone were to splash even one drop of cool water onto me, they would have to peel me off of the ceiling. Then they best see if they can outrun me. lol...
Oh, if you want to hear some of the research being done at Stanford Medical Center, here's a lecture on You-Tube. It's been on TV also.
