Neurontin

Does anyone else take Neurontin (Gabapentin) for their pain? And if so does it really help? When I was diagnosed last week my doctor gave me a prescription for it and I have been taking it 3 times a day like it said to. But so far the pain is still the same.

it didn´t work for me either, tha pain was kind of the same and got a lot of dizziness.

I didn't find it helped at all. In fact, it gave me horrible headaches. Which is kind of funny, NOT!, b/c it was to help w/ TN. My brother and sister both take it and they find it helpful. We all have different reactions to meds in my own family and here w/ the HW family. It basically comes down to trial and error.

I'm sorry it didn't help you, but perhaps, your dr may have another suggestion that will give you some relief. I do hope so.

I've been on it for two months now.  It has been an amazing help to me, with no side effects (except I can only take it twice a day, the third dose made me puff up like a blowfish).  It took me two years to talk my doctor into letting me try it.  He kept poking antidepressants at me until I put my foot down and said nonononononono!  Everybody's different.  But I felt a very noticeable difference in four days, so if it's not helping yet it probably won't ever.  On to miracle drug #?

Well I will tell my doctor that I should take something else then. Monday I see my neurologist about what is causing my major weakness in my body. I will be sure to add a new post for that though. Thanks for the help.
