Hi Karen,
So glad to hear that you had a great holiday. AND you got to play w/ the 2 younger grands - that's always fun. Some day I may know for sure, some day, maybe. lol
We had dinner at our house, our older son came to our house for dinner, too. It was nice to have all of us around the table, again. We say Grace before our meals, and when our younger son (26) shared his 'Thanks', he said the table seemed a little 'lighter' this year. I could feel my eyes just well up. My DM wasn't at the table this yr and our darling 'puppy' is gone. It was very upsetting.
I had been cleaning and prepping for days ahead of time. My DD and DS were available on Wednesday, so they helped w/ cleaning and veggie prep. They were a big help. None the less, I was/am tired.
Wednesday afternoon my mother was having a rough time and had to go to the hospital, so w/ the prepping, cooking, etc and going to the hospital it has been a long weekend. Then my DH got sick late Friday night. He is home, but I keep waiting for 'our' ride to the hospital. Usually, my DH and DM end up in the hospital at the same time. I don't know how they manage to do that so often.
I am tired and flaring, I'm not in a bad mood, just on edge, I guess. I try to keep a good 'face' for my mother and my husband, they don't need to worry about me, too.
I don't do 'Black Friday', my DH and I usually get up at 6am to be at the grocery store by 7am - same as usual. The store is so quiet, everyone is at the mall. I have been picking up little things for Christmas over the past few months. I will have to get some things on line - my DD usually helps me w/ that. It comes to the house, a little tissue paper, gift bag, name tag - I'm good. So different from how I used to be, Oh well!
I'm glad everyone had a nice holiday w/ their families, hope you all are feeling better very soon.
God bless. Alice.
