I went to the ent and the neurologist this past friday and found out quite a few "not so good", and "not good" things about
my health.
I wanted to make sure everyone saw this and reposting didnt seem to be the way. so, here goes.
As some of you know I am fairly new to this site. I lurked for quite awhile before actually joining. I always thought everyone was friendly and informative. So, I joined.
Just last week my rheumy told me that something else besides the fibro was going on and wanted me to see a neuro. I also went to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. This is what they had to say:
1) My iron levels are extremely low. they are not low because of the b-12 as originally thought. apparantly the red blood cell look different if the anemia is caused be b-12 and my b-12 levels were never low enough to cause pernicious anemia. Pernicious anemia is vitamin related. I have low blood iron which is metal related and now we still have to find out where its going.
2) Neuro thinks that there is some kind of connective tissue disorder going on and is requesting much blood work to be done to help rule/rule out lupus, sjorgrens, and others that fall into that catagory.
3)My right eye is not responding correctly and the eye always feels like it has a gel like coating over it. the vision in the eye is not good either and all the eye doctors say that I must be lying because tests are not proving that my vision is that bad. But it is and only on some days. It doesnt matter if I read alot that day or not. some days the vision is real blurry and some days its not.??? The neuro is going to send me to the "eye hospital" to get it checked.
4) the mri on my brain is ok but the one on my neck is not. I have a large mass on my thyroid that is big enough to move my trachea over and squish it against the other side of my throat. I get a biopsy done on it the 14th. If it is a cyst they will drain it, if not it will have to come out (cancer or not). If it is cancer?? we will deal with that later.
4) Having major fibro flare and its been going on since early summer. this is the worse on yet and everytime I think it is finally going away - bam.
On top of all these health issues a fellow associate passed away last week and today is her funeral. she was young and is leaving behind three little girls under the age of 6. I just can't get my mind around it.
I want to thank you all for listening. I really needed to tell someone about all my medical wooes and didn't want to burden my family with it until I find out something concrete.
