Hi and nice to meet you!
At the risk of sounding contrary...but, there is no known causes, yet, for fibromyalgia. It is a chronic pain disorder of the muscles in the body. Most notable are over sensitivity to any tactile stimulus. For some reason, not known, the nervous system seems to amplify the pain signals even though there is nothing wrong with the area that hurts. Ever have someone give you a light touch or tap and it hurts like you were just stuck with a dagger? Do muscles ache beyond belief and you did nothing to warrant it? That's fibro. It is not damaging any parts of the body but it makes life miserable. I can see no way that fibro can cause anything to do with the pancreas. Below is from the NIH(national institute of health) on the causes of pancreatitis. Not fibro listed anywhere. I certainly would either get a second opinion or a new doctor. I believe this doctor is looking for causes and knows little to nothing about
fibro. It's not that rare actually.
As far as massage therapy goes...some people find it helpful yet others, like me, will take someone down if they so much as THINK about
touching my shoulder/neck/ area.
There are forms of touch I love but only my hubby knows where they are ;-) but there is no way I could handle anyone trying to massage any inch of my body without feeling horrible pain.
If your pain is not being addressed that is also another reason to look for someone new to take over your care. There are pain clinics and other doctors who can help you with some relief of your symptoms. Please do some looking around and get a doctor who knows and understands fibro.
Good luck and keep in touch...

digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/pancreatitis/The most common cause of acute pancreatitis is the presence of gallstones—small, pebble-like substances made of hardened bile—that cause inflammation in the pancreas as they pass through the common bile duct. Chronic, heavy alcohol use is also a common cause. Acute pancreatitis can occur within hours or as long as 2 days after consuming alcohol. Other causes of acute pancreatitis include abdominal trauma, medications, infections, tumors, and genetic abnormalities of the pancreas.
