I'm just wondering, being a complete novice here - what's the difference in Fibro and CFS?
I thought they were the same thing

CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) is just that. You have bad fatigue that doesn't go away. With fibromyalgia, you have pain as the main hallmark of the illness with fatigue thrown in there too.

Because we have fatigue, too, some doctors think we have both fibro and chronic fatigue syndrome. Some members have more problems with fatigue and others, like me, have more problems with the pain aspect of this illness.

Oh Gosh, I see!
I guess I won't know for sure until I get a proper diagnosis!
For me though, I suffer more with the CFS side of things - but when I over do things It's definately more fibro side.. So it's a mixture of both worlds I expect xx

That's correct. Your doctor should run you through a battery of tests to rule out the other illnesses that have many of the same symptoms as fibro. Most can be done with blood work. Then, if they think it's fibro, the diagnosis would be given. Some doctors then send the patient to see a rheumatologist...at least here in the US. I'm not sure what they do in your country. I do wish you luck, though. Not having many doctors to choose from makes things worse!
