I am addicted to Crochett! Lol, there are a lot of worse things I could be addicted to! I was so excited on Christmas to recieve a bunch of yarn but I am stuck I just cannot decide what to make!

have you checked out the patterns on ravelry? I just made a friend of mine a beret and scarf. My DD had to help walk me through it since I had never made a hat.

I thought you were talking about a rock group...Crochett Slump!  tongue    Hey, there is a group called Smashing Pumpkins so Crochett Slump doesn't sound that weird!

My grandmother loved to crochet and I have a beautiful afghan that she made that I treasure.  She also crocheted multi-colored trim that she sewed on the edges of her pillow cases.  They were so delicate. 

 

There are some great web sites out there with a million ideas for you.  I wish I knew how to crochet.

Crochetting is so fun. I went through a spurt of it a few years back. I couldn't get enough of it. It is good to keep the fingers limber too. I think it is so good to use one's hands. Busy hands are happy hands as they say. Good luck crochetting.

My mom was awesome at knitting and crocheting...my dad use to tell her she had "golden hands"...she learned when she was just a child and did it until 7 years ago, just suddenly stopped, probably because of Alzheimer's. She was living with me at the time and I tried to get her to teach me and she couldn't do it. I never had an interest in it, until then. I bought a book "Knitting and Crochet for Dummies" and I taught myself! I have made countless afghans, a blanket for my grandson's bed (camo!!) and now I am working on the Tibetan style hats which are all the rage "on the mountains"...one of my sons, DIL and grandson are really into skiing and snowboarding...it is a wonderful hobby. I take it with me when I visit my mom where she lives, assisted living and every time she asks who taught me and I tell her that she did...it makes her so happy!

Wow, kitty, sounds like so much fun. A friend is making a blanket from a doily pattern. Somehow she enlarged it and will have a blanket that looks like a giant doily.

Can you do multi colored scarves or is that knitting?

That was hilarious , Sherrine! A rock group...sounds like when I'm talking to my 16 year old and she asks me if I've heard of (some wierd name). I just ask her is it an animal, food, or rock group! It's usually a rock group!

Sherrine, I acctually started otu with Knitting tried for years my grandmother was very patient and I just could nto do it, a friend of mine taught me how to make a blanket a few years ago and I taught myself hats, scarfs, and many other things. I just cannot decided what to make know I want to make everything! A rock band hahaha yeah there are a lot of bands with weird names! MT lady good for you, sounds like you deffinitl;y love to crochett just like I do! What a wonderful story about your mother. Yes sue I can do multi colored scarfs or anything multi colored. The doily blanket sounds neat! Maybe I will try that! Thanks everyone!
