I have been referred back to Oregon Health and Science University (again
) to the fibro clinic but they just called and said that my financial aid will not cover it and it does not cover the pain clinic either. They want 300 just to walk in the door for either clinic and then approximately 150 every visit after that, but could possibly be significantly more depending on what I need which i'm a freak of nature so i tend to need a lot. I am to the point I can hardly do anything consistently anymore and am at risk for losing my job which means losing my house as well but I know that I could keep working if I could just get treatment. I have no insurance, no way to get insurance (enormous amount of pre-existing conditions), and there seems to be nothing besides financial aid through each facility that I am a patient of to help with payment and my massage therapist, acupuncturist, and naturopath don't do financial aid at all and even the lowest payment of the sliding scale is beyond my means and I can't go anymore and am getting worst and worst (I have even tried to barter but have nothing at the moment that they need to barter services for). I am at a total and complete loss. There used to be such a thing as emergency medicade to help in times like this but the program has been abolished but they have illegal immigrant emergency medicade which sends me through the roof. Why is there not a program to help pay for medical? I have applied for state assistance but they are taking my full gross income of my self employment and not looking at any of my deductions because I am a low income daycare and really all my income goes to just paying bills but I cannot seem to get them to look at my paperwork properly so they tell me I make to much money between my husband and I to qualify for medical, food, or housing assistance. Why do you have to make less than it takes to afford living in a cardboard box before they will help you? I have also applied for the high risk pool state health insurance but I cannot afford 350 a month for just me and still have to pay co-pay and deductible and they have yearly limits which I will probably surpass because my track record for the last two years has been about
50,000 in medical a year and for the years before that it was at least 10,000 per year (on good years which i have not had many in my entire life) all of this has been covered by financial aid through the hospitals. Which all that doesn't really matter because I'm on the waiting list to be put on the waiting list to even apply for the insurance anyway and I've been on this waiting list for a year already been on the waiting list a year
. My specialist does not take financial aid for regular visits and it's 140 every time i walk in the door and they do have me on budget pay but now they are threatening to send me to collections because my bill has gotten so high but i've paid 900 out of my own pocket this year and had it down to 60 when they threatened to turn me in but now it is up to 1900 because of recent tests that i had to have done. i just don't know what to do anymore. Any advice is greatly needed and appreciated.
