Was wondring if anyone experienced numbess and tingling in extremeties? I experience it often currently in my pinky fingers. It sometimes causes anxiety but it happens in both hands with pain in elbows so I'm hoping its a symptom of fibro. Thanks for any input and happy holidays!

Look up cubital tunnel syndrome - it sounds similiar to what you are experiencing. Good luck, happy holidays to you to!!

i get tingling in my hands and feet all the time. along with horrible pain in my arms, more so my right arm, that migrates down and feels like fire running through my arm.
it gets worse when someone touches me. i told my rheumatologist about
it and he said its quite possible its just my fibro really acting up. i notice it really only happens if im really cold or extremely fatigued from my insomnia being horrible for a few days in a row.
i dont know if there are any meds for it. i just deal with it as i dont want to take any more meds than i already do.
i hope you are able to find an answer soon!
Merry Christmas!!

I have the same problem time to time. The other day my big toe and littlest toe on both feet went numb and then tingly. Usually though, it is my index finger on my right hand that does it the most.

Oh, yes...especially in my hands. It is a symptom of fibro, too. When fibro hit me the first time, it hit me in the elbows. It was like I banged the "funny bone" and I had that horrible pain that shot down into my hands and fingers and it didn't stop for over two weeks! I was told to start taking ibuprofen to help and it did help that.

I have had numbness and tingling in my hands for almost 40 years. It comes and goes. I have been having a flare for a month now and my hands are numb most of the time. The cold weather we are having doesn't help as I have Raynauds also. I wear gloves a lot. Even using my mouse makes my hand numb. But, things could be worse. I just try to ignore it. Sometimes a shoulder massage helps, so I guess tight muscles are part of the problem.

I agree with upbeat, check out cubital tunnel. I had this before the Fibro ever came along - it was only a few months before so perhaps it's related, but it's a pretty easy fix. I was given a device that looked like robocop arm that I straped my arm into at night to keep it straight. Try keeping your arms straight, especially when you sleep, and see if that helps the tingling. Cubital Tunnel is like Carpal Tunnel expect a different nerve that effects the other side of the hand. I

Today I started getting electrical jolts in my lower extremities and a bit of numbness every time I tried to stand up. Are others with fibro experiencing something like this?
It's frustrating. I want the meds to help reduce my symptoms and lately it seems I am adding to them. :-(

I occasionally have the numbness and tingling in my fingers, along with elbow pain (this pain is to the inside of the elbows, and hurts equally and simultaniously on both sides). I have found that stretching exercises, mainly those that stretch the back seem to help.

My fibromyalgia started with tingling, numbing nerve pain in my right toe 18 months ago and since then my entire right side of my body has this sensation. Some days it hurts worst than others. Weather really affects the feeling as well as things I eat. I seem to be getting worst because today it feels like a thousand needles sticking in my skin and then I get anxious about
it which doesn't help. I do not take any drugs at this time but use vitamin and herb supplements.

Hi there!
Yes, i have tingling exactly like you have described. When I spoke to my doctor (Rheumatoid specialist) she said it was part and parcel of fibro.
Hang in there...

hi there,
I have the same sensations in my hands and fingers, numbness and tingling and a feeling of burning. I also have pain in my wrists and elbows, upper back, shoulders, neck, and I get the weird feeling in my feet too. On my left side my whole arm went numb for 15 min plus, I got scared
all I could think was, maybe I am having a heart attack or something. I have fibro all over, but now I am seeing a neuro doctor to see
what is going on in my hands.

hi angel. Yes lol life is...i get scared from these as well but I do have so much anxiety anyway. In a pretty bad flare right now and got that tinglingish tight feeling betweemy shoulder blades mainly on the left side. Seriously scared me. But I tries to reason with myself...if I put on the heating pad and layed back it didn't hurt as bad...it doesn't change it I take a deep breath..so it must be just a random sensation. Its so hard to read layed back like that which is what I love to do.
Its good that yyou are going to see a neuro for this. That is who diagnosed my carpal tunnel. Sorry if I'm not making much since. This "fog" is kicking my butt too. But I DO hope you find some relief! "Soft hugs"

I've had tingling, burning, pins and needles sensation also. Those were my main symptoms when I got diagnosed with Fibro. I had that feeling so bad in my face, I swear I felt every nerve in my eyelids. I get stabbing pains in my lower back that hurt so bad I cant even walk. My Neoro put me on Gabapentin 3000 mg a day. This helped alot. I still get flare ups but at least I get some releif. Hang in there! Tara
