I HATE WHEN MY COMPUTER EATS MY POSTS!!!  I had a long post about Pittsburgh weather and how we used to take over the roads and highways on snowmobiles. 

Anyway, it is snowing.  about 6 inches, so they say.  We missed the last blizzard, thank goodness.

I figure laughter is the best medicine so I decided to throw a dinner party, Saturday night...inviting 6 people. Planning will keep my mind off of everything and doing things on the spur of the moment makes things exciting!

We got 3'' of snow today...in Arkansas. It is pretty, but we moved from Wisconsin almost 15 years ago to get away from it. Hope to retire in Florida!

Sherrine, thanks so much for this wonderful thread.

I was able to walk out onto the local golf course and watch my son sled ride! What a gift, he was so happy to have me there. We saw a soft, inflatable sled while there. I'm looking for one now, so maybe we can sled down the hills together, just a little.

Also, I finally broke down and bought that seat cane. Now we can go to the museums again. Those trips used to be a regular part of our family life. In the past two years, we went only once or twice.

It is a balmy 20 degrees here today, it is suppose to get a little colder for the next couple of days but then a heat wave of 30 degrees is upon us.

Now don't that make you feel sorry for me Sherrine???

I spent ALL day Thursday helping my DD with the things she wants for her Bridal Shower which is 3 weeks today, we had so much fun doing it together. The theme is holiday. But I got to be the one to buy her the pretty pink [now I can't spelll this but will do my bst] Lingie for her honeymoon. Because the party theme is pink "Well Mum I didn't give you any girly colors in the wedding we will do pink for the shower.
I found a wonderful card for a mother to her daughter for a wedding I broughr it and wrote in it telling her how wonderful she has been and how much I love her, you get the idea if I write anymore I will be crying. I know we havw to be parents but I would say ans I nknow she would return this we are best friends [to a point] We always made sure she had HER DAD time that was important for us because she has 3 older brother who are also close to their father. Our 4 have been a joy to us. But nothing can replace the spot a daughter has in her mothers heart or at least that is for me. She tells me she has written a letter to her bridegroom to give him the night of the wedding.
Yes I have health problems at present and my DD also has fibro. We are planning this party to be fun, have games with small prizes and then the men can come for a meal once it is all over.y DD middle name id JOY and she is a Joy to me,

Really nice to see this thread and read about positive 'happenings' in peoples' lives!

I'd have to say that good news for me is finding this thread! Christmas is always hard for me and the 2 weeks following found me mired in Fibro fog and barely able to tie 2 thoughts together. BUT, my brother's bladder tumor was benign and my sister had her brain tumor removed without complication. She's started chemo but has been staying so active and positive it amazes me!

So there's more Good News! And it actually gets better! I got a Pension roll out cheque from an old employer and can now buy myself a car that won't need fixing every 1000 miles! I was able to bail my son out of jail (he's a fool - LOL) and catch up on my child support payments.

Geez, until just now I hadn't realized how good things were going! : )

I am thankful for my wonderful husband who helps me with laundry when I need it and is content to stay home and watch a DVD with me in the evenings. He doesn't complain when I don't have the energy to tidy the house, and he loves me. I am also thankful for my kitties that give me great joy and comfort. And, I am thankful for my church community and the gift of faith.

Great post, Sherrine. Thanks for the opportunity to talk about the good things in life.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer back in April of 2009. Due to insurance reasons, I could not move forward with my reconstruction until this year. I am thankful that I am getting very close to being able to finally have it done, hopefully in about 6 weeks.

I love reading all the good things we have in our lives!  It's too easy to forget when you have chronic pain.  Keep looking at the positive things in your lives and you will feel better!

 

Well my good news is I got my kitchen and master bath floor scrubbed (I use an electric scrubber) and I just finished mopping the rest of the tile floors.  This job I hate but it is done now.  That makes ME smile...on the inside and the outside!

Just spent two enjoyable days at my grandchildren's house. They have three kids ages 4 years, 2 years, and 4 mos. so it is a VERY active household. Normally I can't handle it all between the rambunctious activity and the noise level -- but I did and I had fun. Yay!

Love this new thread Sherrine.  I know this seems odd but I get to go back to school tomorrow.  I never thought I would be glad to go back to work but we have missed 10 days of school this year because of all the snow.  It is so beautiful but I have watched movies and played on the computer until I am actually looking forward tomorrow.

 

My fibro is not giving me any trouble right now and I feel so blessed.  Things are really going well.

 

Also my son that just had the defib/pacemaker is doing great and he gets to go back to school tomorrow too. 

 

What more could I ask for!

 

I've enjoyed reading everyone's good news.  Let's keep it up.

I made some extra chicken & noodles last week and took some to two people who needed a little help. One was in a head-on collision, and the other's husband is seriously ill. Usually I'm lucky to make anything for even us, so it made me feel good to be able to help someone else :)

Yep, great good news!  Getting out and working, helping others, enjoying families and loving the football playoffs!  Hmmm....Robin and GSDgirl will be rivals at the Super Bowl.  I'll be rooting with Robin!  (Remember, I'm a Browns fan...and a Buccaneers fan.)

 

Well, my good news today is my very first pension check was deposited in my checking account!    I'm doing a happy dance now!  yeah

hahahaha!!! Sherrine, if you are a Browns fan I can understand why you are not going to cheer the Steelers on.  Most Browns fans absolutely HATE the Steelers and I just love it when we kick butt tongue   

My good news for the day is umm, hmm, er, I had a nice relaxing day but got the laundry washed, dried, folded and last weeks wash put away.  Got the floors swept and dinner cooked.  Good enough for me.

GSDGirl, you're right!  turn    Since the Browns and the Buccaneers aren't playing, I have to choose someone to root for and it isn't going to be the Steelers!  devil   It's only a game and we all know the best team will win.  It's just fun watching!

 

Well, my good news is I'm right on schedule in getting everything ready for my company Saturday.  My list is getting shorter and I just love crossing off something when I accomplish it.  Today it was cleaning my refrigerator...even the coils under the fridge, cleaning the microwave and toaster oven, plus I managed to run to the drug store to get my monthly prescriptions and I put them in my four weeks worth of pill boxes.  So, I'm set!

My good news today is that I took advantage of this snow day (which is our 12th this year) and cleaned out my closet.  I boxed up a load of clothes and took them to our local nursing home. 

 

I have a cousin that resides there as well as my mother-in-law and they have yard sales often to make money for their prizes for games they play. 

 

It's always a pleasure to visit with the residents because they appreciate it so much.
