I think i had my first flare?

This started last wednesday. I went to see a neurologist for the first time. I struggled with walking a bit but it wasnt too painful. Not sure if it is associated with what has gone on sat and today. Early saturday morning my left foot started hurting and by night my left hip started hurting. By last night my left lower leg started hurting and burning it hurt so bad. It continued onto all day today. Today i also had the chills and aches. I didnt sleep at all last night due to the pain. I was sooo close to going to the hospital. I started to sneeze and cough last night and then i decided to tip the bottle...yes, niquil lol....i finally fell asleep around 1 pm today. I got up and the pain is GONE!
I think the cold i have is from my doctor, he was sick too lol..i catch something everytime i go outside.

So, can you tell me if this is what a flare is so that I know the next time?

It sounds like you caught a 24 hour bug. The pain part sounds like a flare. It is just incredible pain that just does not stop. I hurt all the time, but when I flare, I hurt much, much worse than I do now. I haven't had a flare in a long time, but overwhelming fatigue.

yes, I was just telling my hubby that i feel like i been out partying all night and how exhausted i am. This pain was incredible as well and it lasted a long time. Thanks karen!

Also, if your feet and hips bother you, you carry yourself differently and that puts more stress on certain muscles and causes more pain.  That happens to me, too, so maybe that's why you got over it so quickly.  Always pace yourself.  If you start a walking regimen, start out slowly and build yourself up.  By pacing yourself, you can help prevent more pain.  But Karen described a flare perfectly.  All the pain you have is worse and doesn't stop for a while.  I've had flares last a couple of days to many months!
