A "Hot" Time At My House Last Night!

Yesterday I scrubbed my kitchen and master bath tile floors.  When I was done I fixed some chicken for dinner.  I got a new bottle of chicken wing sauce out of the pantry, took off the cap to see if there was a seal under it, and then set the cap back on.  I got busy preparing other parts of my meal. 

 

When I got everything on my plate, I was going to pour some sauce on the plate, too.  I thought I should shake it, so I did.  The loose cap came off and I ended up with chicken wing hot sauce in my face, all down the front of me, and all over my freshly scrubbed tile....sinking into the grout!  By the time I cleaned myself up and cleaned the floor, my dinner was cold.     Oooohhhh, I just love fibro fog!

Yikes, what a mess!!

I did something like a very long time ago with A-1 Steak sauce in a very nice restaurant. Made a great impression on my date. LOL

Thats terrible, but as un-fun as that was, at least it was on yourself.

I opened a packet of mayo in a fast food place and then had to put it down to attend to one of the kids. I forgot when I picked it back up that I had already shaken down the mayo to open and, yeah, I gave it a good shake. Well, I not only gave it a good shake but had picked it up by the unopen end so mayo shot out of the packet all over the person sitting behind me.

I could tell by the stricken look on my sisters face and the mess in my hand that I had done a "whoops". I turned around and the person sitting behind to the left of me had a streak of mayo straight across his face and glasses. I had never been so embarrassed. Fortunately he was good natured and forgiving.

We laugh about it now.....But.......now I have to be extra careful to check anything I pick up before shaking it.

I do things like that all the time... One time I opened a jar of spaghetti sauce then set it down with the lid on it and when I got ready to heat it up I gave the jar a good shake and the spaghetti sauce went everywhere! Also it seems like every time I'm trying to clean I end up making some kind of mess in the process, I just can't win.

Have I done anything stupid lately? Haha... oh yeah.

I took some orange juice out of the refrigerator yesterday, grabbed a glass from the cupboard and poured it full. Put the lid back on the OJ and tried to return it to the cupboard instead of the refrig. Whoopsies....

Oh, and here was a good one. A couple weeks ago I took my son and nephew to eat at a Mexican restaurant. We were enjoying the chips and salsa and I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita. Somewhere in the midst of it all I dipped a tortilla chip into my margarita instead of the salsa and had it all the way up to my mouth before I realized what I had done. Whoopsies #2. The boys got quite a chuckle out of it.

And lastly, this one happened awhile ago, but I was driving in an unfamiliar area and was using my Garmin to direct me. It kept saying "recalculating, recalculating" (because I had turned north on the interstate when I intended to turn south). In my "fog" I just kept driving oblivious to it all and it was probably 20 miles later before it settled in why the dumb GPS kept saying "recalculating" at every exit. I guess it was just dumb ol' me! Ha!

Our internet was down on wednesday - I left to go to Barnes and Noble to get on their net - except I forgot my laptop! Fortunately I was only a few miles down the road when it dawned on me. lol

I was talking with someone at my church this morning and started saying, "I'm so excited to hear about...." then I stopped myself in my tracks.... I was almost going to say I am excited to hear your daughter is getting married, when in fact, she got married two years ago and it was someone else in the church who is getting married. (keep in mind this is a small church so i should know better) I started this embarrassed laugh and then admitted I was thinking of someone else. He was good natured about it.
I think I say or do something silly every day but I don't remember anything past today... LOL

I made sour cream enchiladas and forgot to put the sour cream in it. It tasted horrible! I then tried to add sour cream and re-cook it, but it tasted even worse. So now hubby asks me EVERY time if I remembered to put the sour cream in. The joke is on him, though. Next time I'll probably forget some other ingredient.

A few weeks ago I was making that cream cheese cheesecake that uses cream cheese, lemon juice, and (crud, can't think of the other ingredient -it's some kind of milk but no evaporated). Anyway, I was looking at the wrong recipe, one for chocolate cheesecake that has to be baked, and put flour into it. So I had to start over, and I had to go ahead and make the chocolate cheesecake because I didn't want to have to throw the ingredients away.

I use Ranch dressing and hubby uses Catalina. A few weeks ago I thought I was being nice and opened his dressing. Yep. He picked it up and started shaking it and it went everywhere. Luckily he's used to me and is pretty easygoing.
