fibromyalgia

I was just wondering if anyone out there got social security disability for their fibromyalgia.  If so, please let me know how everything went and if it was a long process.  Thank you

I applied but was denied. But the process took about two years, and you get denied a few times before you see an administrative law judge. So if you are denied, keep appealing it. I wish you the best.

I have social security disability but I also have other illness that go along with fibro.  I did it on my own and it took me about 6-8 months from start to first check.

I was approved the first time also, but I have fibro and pancreatitis. It took about 5 months to get approved and I got back payments for those 5 months it took for them to decide. It was definitely worth everything I had to go through to get it.

I stopped working in May of 2009 because in the 7 years I worked there I took at least 8 leave of absences. Collected all medical reports, made appt at social security office. It took 5 months; in December got a call to go to ssi office and my social worker informed me I had been approved. I also suffer from bipolar with paranoia tendencies, extreme panic and stress disorder. I had to see govt's doc for eval. Interesting enough, their doc told me I should of been on meds for anxiety for at least 20 yrs. ago. My friend filed and was declined, hired an attorney and won. Now gets ssi-disability check for herself and her son is a minor and he gets a check also. Hope this helps!

I have been waiting almost six years to get in front of an administrative law judge........the first four years they kept on denying me......and they wouldn't let me go before the judge on my own.......I had to hire a lawyer abour a year and a half ago.....I think It is all really FOGGY I think ya'll can figure that one out.......I am in pain almost 70% of the time the other thirty I take 15mg of oxycodone to help ease the pain.........and my functionability is minimal at best.........even with the oxycodone...........so back to the story did i get off track wow that almost ALWAYS HAPPENS.....so now i have the lawyer and we are now finnally at the waiting game portion of the program........since the finnal denial after reconsideration it has been about four months I think.........so i am hopin any day now i will hear from them and we can go to court an hopefully wrap this up and my kids can finnally go meet mickey mouse, I can pay off my land.....and then i can have about 80% less stress in my life and some of the pressure will be off of my wife as she has been the sole provider for the past six to eight years..........my only real diagnosis is the fibro so it has been really hard from that aspect, but i know there is nothing i can do for more than a few days a month at best that i can make any money at for work so I know I will get what i deserve........
