Now i may have RA as well??? *sigh*

I have been diagnosed with Fibro for the last two years and like so many of you suspected it was more than Fibro....

Well I have begun having tender, achy and swollen knuckles, wrists, ankles, feet and shoulders. My sed is 60 but I test negative for rheumatoid factor. So many docs have tested me for rf yet none told me I can still have RA while testing negative for it. I have suspected RA for awhile now, but it seems my rheumy is finally starting to believe me after looking at my huge knuckles.

I have taken more blood tests that include other factors that indicate RA and should know more in a few days....I wonder why it is sooooo hard to get a diagnosis for anything?????

Graceful 1, I'm sorry for your pain and frustration. Hoping that your symptoms are being treated. If a doc suspects you have RA..(it is possible to have it with being RF negative) he might put you on a NSAID such as Mobic or Celebrix.... sometimes a 2 wk prednisone taper to see how your symptoms react to it.

I'm glad you have a doc who is thorough! Weeding through the mess does take time, but it is important that you get the right dx so that you can get the best treatment :)

Hang in there ! It is fortunate you do have a thorough doc. ! And you'll get the appropriate rx. I was dx'd with the RA first then came FM then came another
autoimmune skin dx. hidradenitis and MRSA. Some days I want to scream and this is as good a place as any to vent !
