Wow, morphine is scary. Honestly I think being sensitive to meds runs in families, because my mother, grandmother and sister are sensitive too. I can't take any OTC cold medicine, (sudifed, etc) that makes the top of my head tingle..lol.
I'm just really funny about taking meds, I don't like the feelings they give me. When I am at work, already tired I hate taking motrin and tylenol because I get even more tired! Then I have to grab some coke or coffee. It's an on going cycle..haha.
I don't know if you have already been to your NP, but I would expain that you are sensitive to meds and how it makes you feel. I would be straight up about it, and if it was me I would ask for a low dose or the least harsh pain meds, and to tell you the truth I still come home and split the pill and take half the dose..lol BUT thats me, I know how my body is.
Some people have no problems with taking pills. I am an RN and when I worked the hospital floor I could not believe how many pills some people take, and then they start on some because of side effects from others.
I myself, because I don't eat properly, trying to change my diet. I came across some info on green smoothies, and how you mix leafy green veggies and fruit together to make a really healthy smoothie. Sounds gross, and yes it's green, but it takes good. I add a little more fruit than greens, this am I had spinach for my greens. I think it's a good way to get in the best superfoods you can eat. I am gonna do one a day and maybe move it up two. Hopefully this may help some of my symptoms.
You just have to be careful if your diabetic or taken certin meds like blood thinners.
Anyway, hope your visit went well. :)
