Hi everyone,

my name is Sammie im 21. i was diagnosed with bi polar, anxiaty & to top it off fybromyagia!

i am also a mother of 3 and wife for almost 2 years. anyways.

just wanted to say hello. my fybro has really kicked in since the birth of my youngest child 12 weeks ago. i am going to call my doctor in the morning and see what we can come up with. i am so extreamley achy and exausted from sleepless nights. im tired of trying to controll my pain with OCT's...im also breast feeding...does anyone have any advice of a medicine i can take while breast feeding? thanks so much. excited to be here :]

Hi Sammie, welcome to the family! You have come to the right place!
We understand the frustration and pain of fibro. The members are
caring and understanding. We really do care and share info to help one another.

Being a mom with 3 kids, you must be pretty active, and it's difficult when you are achy. Many of us were found to have very low levels of vitamin D and were put on therapy to get our levels back up. Low levels of vitamin D will cause more achiness. You might want to get your levels checked.

Heat is a fibromites friend...whenever possible use a moist heat pad for relief...and if you have the time a soak in the tub really helps!

Exercise is not an option when you have fibro. You hurt all the more if you don't move. Many of us are walkers...it helps with stress too:)

Please make sure to read fibro !01 on top of pg. 1. Sherrine has put together a wonderful resource of helpful info.

As far as meds are concerned, please talk to your doc because you are breast feeding. You really want to make sure what you are taking is going to be safe for your sweet baby.

When you have a baby all your hormones can spin terribly out of control. If you are bipolar it may and can be worse. what you need to do is get a doctors appt. asap and get your meds adjusted. please don't wait. My daughter suffers the same and she let hers go too long and ended up in bed for several days doing nothing but crying and hurting. She was fine as soon as she had her meds adjusted/changed.

It is normal for some mothers to experience the "baby blues" but with bipolar it is worse and needs medication. I am sure the medication you were on was a lower dose or a different one, it will not carry you over much longer.

I am glad that you are here with us, not the reason, of course, but we all understand what you are going thru and there is always someone that has, or knows someone going thru the same thing. My daughter and I both have fibro, but she also has bipolar and has 3 small children ( the youngest is 8mos.). If she keeps an eye on her meds/moods and keeps on top of her appts, she functions just fine and so do the boys.
