HI I'm new here

Hello everyone,

I'm new here. Long story short I had a major gynecoligical surgery in Oct/09 and that is when my life went downhill..FAST! I have major complications fromt eh surgery but I also now have bulging discs all over my beck (2 3 4 5 and s1, neck is 5 6 7) I also have chronic constipation and totally rely on harsh laxatives to have a bm. I have had a colonoscopy and my dr is now sending me to a dr 4 hours away because he can't "figure" it out. I have been on major pain meds since the 09 surgery . Percocets and now Dilaudid. I just seen my pm dr and he said that I do have myofascial pain syndrome and he did some trigger point injections on me and said possibly Fibro as well. I am just a mess as you can see. I also have numerous heart issues and defiencies (vit d and iron) I see my dr today about them and to see what will be done.

I am just overwhelmed. I have 3 children, 12, 3 an 2 and a great husband. I am having a very difficult time dealing with teh chronic pain and I am SO sleepy.

Good morning Daisy, and welcome to the family.

I have had FMS all my life, but when I had my hysterectomy that was the final straw. Pain was my closest 'friend'. I have a few other problems, too. It is certainly a pain in the 'everything'.

I hope you get some answers at your dr visit today. A lot of us are deficient in the vitamins & minerals. Vitamin D is a biggie.

When you get a chance check out 'Fibro 101' - a post at the top of the page. It was compiled by our dear Sherrine and there is so much good info there. I still go back to reread it. Fibro Fog is so much fun. NOT! lol

I know it feels overwhelming, but you have 3 wonderful children, a great husband and now you have A L L of us. We will get thru this together. Hope you have a great day today.

Hi Canadian Daisy and welcome to our family. Worry you have so much going on but I think it common for us with fibro to have more than just the fibro.
Im glad you have joined us and I do understand how hard it is to have a family plus fibro but I tried to always take one day at a time and to tell myself that I have fibro it does not have me.
Feel free to ask questions, vent when you need to or offer advice to others. I hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you all SO much for the warm welcome! It has brought tears to my eyes..thank you. It means so much to me to finally have a nice place to go and talk with others about 'things'.
This site seems very positive and very welcoming. Thank you all for lifting me up when I need it!

The pm dr also prescribed Lyrica for me and said that it could help and when I start it though I have to stop taking the Flexeril and Ativan (1mg for sleep). However I had to clear it with the cardiologist ( I have had a very high blood pressure and fast heart rate and they cannot figure out why..why not huh? lol) He said that it was ok and that it was worth a try. When I see the family dr today I will run it by her and see.
You are right about people with fibro having so many other serious issues as well as fibro. I am wondering, should I pot my medical tag alongs in my signature or just keep it to myself?

Daisy, you can put your medical issues in your profile if you want to. Just don't make it more than 10 lines like I did. I shortened it real quick once I found out. I did not put my meds on there yet because I'm not done with the doctors.
