Hello all, I'm back with a few questions..
I'm new to fibro, but not the pain. I was prescribed Savella from a new dr about 2 weeks ago. My blood pressure went from 120/80 to 155/115 upon the third titration dose along with dizziness, nausea, and headaches within a week of starting the medication. I called my dr to make sure that was alright, and he had me immediately stop the Savella. I was instructed to call back to the office in a week (tomorrow) for instructions on a new medication to try. In the meantime, I'm on no medication other than Tramadol/Fioricet as needed, and am doing terrible. I'm in a constant cycle of pain and depression.
Would it be out of line to talk to my doctor about approving a leave from my work until we can get something figured out medication wise and get this condition to at least to a tolerable point? I'm working 50 hours/week, and do have a STD policy that would allow 12 weeks of paid leave. This pain is dehabilitating, I NEED relief. I missed two half days of work last week and one full day from it. I'm going to run out of sick days soon. What do I do? :( I'm afraid he won't understand, or will deny me the option immediately. I would need him to sign off on my paperwork in order to use my short term disability.
Any suggestions? :(
