idea  Hi! I'm new here and I have had all the usual symptoms of fibromyalgia.  Pain, twitching muscles, tingling hands and feet, etc.... But lately when I'm walking my hips really, really start to hurt.  Has anyone else experieced this.  Thanks

I am newly diagnosed with Fibro. I experience pain in my hips daily. They hurt if I lay on either side too long at night while trying to sleep, or if I walk too long, or even if I sit too long. I've had Fibro symptoms for going on about 2 years now. I was always afraid of what the doctor would tell me if I told him about my symptoms. I finally couldn't take the pain any longer and went to see him. He referred me to a Rheumatology doctor and he told me I am the "Poster Child" for Fibro. I'm just hoping the meds will help and eventually end this nightmare of pain. I wish you well and hope that you will find an end to your pain. :)

I have hip pain from bursitis. Is it possible you have Fibro and bursi***?

Hi, Angeleta and Kinzie and welcome!  Yes, I have the hip pain too and my doctor said it was bursitis and it is common with fibro patients.  I use ibuprofen with food and that helps.  For me, it comes and goes but it is quite painful.

 

Be sure to check out Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum.  There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there.  It's good to learn all you can about this illness because we have to be our own advocates with this illness.

Yes! The pain used to wake me up when sleeping on my side....which is most of the time. I now have a curved pillow that velcros to my leg. It goes between the legs to take the pressure off the hip. My Mom actually bought it for me at a pharmacy shop when I had my hysterectomy last year.

Thank you for the warm welcome. :) It's nice to have a place to talk to people who are going through exactly what I am going through and can understand. People who do not have Fibro can not possibly understand the pain we go through on a daily basis. Right now my pain is at an all time high level because I've just started taking my meds a few days ago. I'm really hoping something kicks in very quickly. On the other hand it feels good that I no longer have to "suck it up and deal with it" any more. Does anyone else have the itching problem? I itch 24/7 all over my entire body. At first I thought I needed to change laundry soaps, bath soaps,etc. But after trying everything in the markets, my Rheumy tells me, its part of it because my Thyroid is off as well. My Fibro is cause major problems with my Thyroid. Doc said my level should be a 5 and its at 20 right now...way too high. I also have high blood pressure, that seems to be doing OK with the med I'm taking. Oh yea and the Fibro is affecting my reflexes on my right side. Who knew turning 40 this year would bring all of this along with it! LOL! :) Thanks again Sherrine for the warm welcome, its very much appreciated!

I had to have cortizone shots in my hips 4 years ago from all the pain. It did help. It's never come back as bad as it was back then, but I still have trouble sometimes. I think mine is bursitis and fibro.
