My fibro might actually be MS. Also, anyone take adderal w/ cymbalta & lyrica?

I'll make this quick cuz I'm sooooo tired today.

Was at rheumy a week ago. Based on new-ish tingling in my extremities, he said he thinks it's time for neuro consult and MRI. I thought "probably looking for pinched nerves or something". Then talking to a patient at work she said "it's my guess he wants to rule out MS. Have you had XYZ symptoms?" and I answered yes to all. When we talked more in detail, she said my pattern, symptoms, etc resemble what she has been thru and she was first diagnosed w/ fibro then MS later. I guess they can mimic each other pretty well. So when I got home, of course I looked up the rest of the symptoms and I have them all but one. Hot showers don't bother me. Site said 60% of MS patients are affected by hot water. So now I'm nervous. Funny thing is, Ive been to Dr's for all symptoms but they never got tied in together. I'll keep all posted but will be a while before I find anything out.

Also, he started me on nuvigal because I keep getting hit with extreme fatigue, especially when driving. I don't think it's working too well. And my lips are swollen, red, and feel sunburned but I wasn't in the sun. Started after taking nuvigal. I used to take adderall but I dont think I can take it now that I'm on cymbalta and lyrica. Anyone else on adderal w/ cym. and lyr.?

I know it's scary, but try not to stress too much! Easy for someone else to say, of course. A few years ago, I did have a neuro check out similar tinglings and had an MRI to rule out MS, and they did. Sometimes I still worry, but I try to banish all such thoughts.

I know they do have many of the same symptoms. Years ago, an acquaintance and I were having the same problems, but I ended up having fibro and she (unfortunately) had MS. I would take heart, though, because of your not being sensitive to heat. Everyone I know who has MS is.

I hope you are right!! I'm not supposed to see the rheumy again for 5 weeks but I don't think I can wait that long. I feel like I need to sit down with him and discuss symptoms that I didn't bring up. I attributed all of them to medication side effects. I hope that is what's causing it, but for some reason I have a feeling it's not the cause. Mostly cuz I was on the medicines for quite a while before symptoms started. I'd tend to think side effects would occur within the first month or 2.

I think I'll be giving my rheumy a call on Monday.

I wonder if any of my new symptoms are menopause related?? That's a thought. All I know is something is changing and it ain't for the better..lol. I feel good for the most part, especially when I am at work on my feet all day (which you'd think it'd be the oppisite). I found myself last weekend just dying for Monday to come cuz I knew I'd be pain free at work. Bet you never heard anyone say that before..lol.


Church tomorrow. Maybe God will be extra nice to me cuz it will be mother's day. Worth a shot.
