Lesson learned the hard way

I left Thursday night for Atlanta to attend my sister's baby shower. On Friday evening, my car broke down and had to be towed to a transmission place. Unfortunately, no mechanics were open until Monday morning. Long story short, my entire clutch system had to be replaced and took the mechanics until Tuesday @ 2:00pm to fix. Hopefully, y'all are smarter than me about your medication. I didn't feel like carrying 5 pill bottles around so I got one of those pill holder things that holds medication for a week. Well, needless to say, I ran out of medication for 2 days and felt absolutely horrible. I also ended up missing 2 days of school. I got home 6ish Tuesday evening and ran straight for the medicine cabinet and went straight to bed. Please don't be stupid like me; pack extra medication for all trips.

Last year we were n our way home from a family vacation - speed limit was 70 or 75 MPH where we were - and we hit a coyote. Do you have any idea how much damage a coyote can do to a Ford Windstar? A whole lot! bent the raditor frame, demolished front bumpper, crack the radiator and other suff I cannot even recall. We ended up stuck for 5 days while they found parts for our van. After that when ever we leave our house I am prepared for anything!

Bummer, I am glad that you are back home now with your meds. That would be really hard for me as I take ten different things. I always carry extra in my purse, but I wouldn't have had enough for that amount of time. I am glad that you are okay now. I hope that this doesn't send you into any kine of a flare.

Yeh, I guess we all need to be prepared for things like that.

I learned the hard way that I have to have extra on hand all the time. I had horrid pain just before work once and needed a second tramadol but I'd only brought one more for a 6-hour shift. I felt bad asking my wife to drive all the way across town to bring me more. Now I have an "am/pm" pill box that I keep in my purse at all times. I always take twice the number of doses than I think I'll need for the day if I'm leaving the house, usually four.

Sherrine, do all of the pills for one day fit in the same "spot"? I'm tired of messing with multiple bottles at a time and sometimes my hands hurt really bad when I open them. After we move I'm going to invest in something like your system and am still trying to figure out what I'm going to do because of how many pills I take a day.
