Hi Linda~
My suggestion would be that there is no definitive answer, but the circumstantial evidence seems to be in agreement with what you, and many of us, are experiencing. Why no authoritative answer? Because the cause and reason behind fibro are still mostly unknown so it's hard to attribute adjunct symptoms to a disorder that is so evasive.
And, like others here, I have been getting some ankle and lower leg swelling for the first time this winter. Our stories seem so similar and I'm inclined to go with what those who are suffering are experiencing. Another thing that researchers and doctors are telling us is that fibro isn't progressive. Oh ya???
When that question comes up here it's rare when someone says theirs has gotten better over time. I have no idea where doctors information comes from but those of us with fibro are living day to day with increasing pain and/or new symptoms showing up. And along with that our lower legs and ankles look like over inflated soccer balls about
to rupture!
I guess that's one reason I love this forum so much. We share and learn from each other. Sure, I listen to my doc and he's wonderful but he also doesn't have fibro. Enough said~ What was the question again???...
