Genie Bra

The other thread about clothes reminded me of something I saw the other night on t.v.

Have any of you tried the Genie Bra? It looks super comfortable, but it's hard to tell just seeing on the t.v. screen. So many of us have bra trouble that I'm wondering if anyone has given it a shot. It's pretty expensive initially($60), but that is for 6 bras, so it comes out to about $10 each.

I'd be curious to see if someone has tried it and found it comfortable. On my quest to find a bra that wouldn't hurt me I tried a Spanx bra that looks really similar to this. It was torture! I can't wear sports bras because of the tightness on the chest and around the ribs.

I'm not very well endowed so the tight bras land right on my chest. I found that the best thing for me is tight fitting camisoles and loose shirts. Good thing that's the style right now. The closest thing to a bra I have found that works for me is a maternity/breast feeding tank top from Target. It has the built in bra shelf and kind of the contour of the Genie Bra. I think this works well for me because the elastic on the bra shelf isn't as tight as others. It's funny/sad because my sister just had a baby and is nursing right now so we're always wearing matching tanks. I've given up on ever going back to bras.

Well, since you brought up the subject...I'm in the "Sherrine-Class" of bra wearers. I think about 40% of my total weight is located on my chest and has been since puberty at age 11. I've always hated wearing bras, none have ever been comfortable, but now with fibro it's torture. I only wear a bra if I'm going out. If someone comes to my home they best deal with it...except if it's company I have never met or rarely see. I'm talking about family and close friends here.

As far as the ones you are all talking about, I've never seen them because any TV I watch is non-commercial. And they don't have too many bra commercials on the hockey channel that hubby likes. My only concern is any kind of money back guarantee. Read the fine print very carefully. Some offer a 30 day money back guarantee BUT... you pay return shipping. And the 30 days start from the day you place your order. By the time you receive it and mail it back the 30 days is up...or that's what they claim. Have seen it happen to friends. If you can find something in a store you can try on and if you like online shopping you might be able to find that same one online. Often cheaper and you have some assurance too. I don't mean to sound skeptical, just preventative. If anyone finds something that is very comfortable for us more amply endowed ladies, please pass on the word. I wouldn't mind something to wear while at home.

I am personally fond of the Victoria Secret's no wire bra. I can't wear the wired bra's because it hurts my ribs and I'm sort of small on top and thin so it sits right on the ribs. But personally, I don't think I would order from online or an infomercial because I like to try them on before I buy - just to make sure they're doable.

The best one I found is body by victoria. They are very comfortable. They are expensive, but more affordable during their semiannual sale. If you go to the store during the sale, you might have to get chartreuse or orange. But if you find an ugly one that fits and is comfortable, you can order online and get more normal colors. And during the sale, I have gotten free shipping, so that is great, too.

Wow, I looked at the website and thought they might be perfect with the band lower, but then saw deb's post and read the reviews! Since the fall I have been searching for a comfortable bra and haven't been able to find one that doesn't hurt.

Before fibro, and before my breast reduction, I absolutely hated bras and they would come off the minute I got home. After the fibro started i got a reduction hoping it would help my neck pain. I am a B/C now and until my intercostal neuralgia and costo started last fall, I couldn't even tell I had one on.

I got the genie bra and thought it was well worth the money. It's a very comfortable bra although not really meant to be a support bra it doesn't support my bust like my other bras I do find it pretty comfy without having to have under wires or straps. Shipping kinda took long too .. so you have to be a little patient when ordering the genie bra.

I have the same problem as you guys but sometimes I have no choice because certain 'areas' become 200% more sensitive than usual...especially when cold ;p

Have you guys tried getting a thicker bra at the back with padding at the front, upping the size *let's say 32-34*, and taking the wire out:)? I have such an AWESOME bra from La Senza, and the only thing that bothers me is the wire:)
