After calling 4 times to get my results I finally have them!

As of now the tests are within normal range.At some point I will have repeat tests due to my pulmonary hypertension. I'm hoping that this disease will have a slow progression.

The nurse told me it was noted in my file that my rheumy has called the cardiologist to review my case...so I do feel like I'm being looked after.

Good news that the cardiologist is being brought in on it and that your tests are in normal range!!

Here's to hoping that it goes very... VERY slow.

Oh Robin I am so happy that the test results came back normal. I would do the happy dance to but Im using the quick reply. lol

Great news, Robin!

Now, is there something you can do to help your prognosis and slow the progression of the disease (like cardio)? It is so much harder to do that with fibro, but could it help?

Sue, the pulmonary hypertension may be the result of autoimmune disease...MCTD and now a possibility of an autoimmune vasculitis.

I have had high blood pressure for about 10 years and have been on BP meds for that long. My BP is finally under control after adding another med to the mix. This should help, but can not reverse the damage I have to the right ventricle...it's thickened and is stiff.
Taking an immunosuppressant helps keep the MCTD somewhat under control.

Dietary changes have been made and my weight is near normal.
Walking daily is helpful. Aerobic exercise is too strenuous for me.

I have faith that my doctors will help get this under control and I plan on doing my part too:) Next month I'll have another echo cardiogram, and see how things are doing. It will be OK!

So glad that you finally know! And that your pulmonary function is in the normal range.....whew!

I've been off for a couple of days due to another computer virus (am using a library computer) and when I saw your topic, I held my breath!
