Pain in left heal

I've had RA for a year now. I've been helped greatly by Methotrexate which was started about six months ago.  My doctor started me on an additional Phase IIb study drug being conducted by Ely Lilly two months ago which is reducing my joint inflammation ever further (per my Rheumatologist).

 

However, I've recently developed night and morning pain in my left heal, that acts like RA pain, but my Rheumatologist says there is no joint in the heal so this isn't RA pain. My experience however is when I walk (or limp around) after getting out of bed for a while the pain goes away, much like the pain of my hands, and toe-joints.

 

My Question is:

Could my heal pain be related to my RA condition?

A year or so ago I had pretty bad pain most of the time in my left heel, sometimes under the middle of the foot too, but no leg or hip pain at that time. I went to 2 different orthopedic surgeons who couldn't figure it out, so they dismissed me. I went to a podiatrist who poked a couple of minutes and said my pain was from my back.

I went to my pain doc, who gave me a spine injection - maybe that was the L5-S1 epidural block - and the foot pain went away. My MRIs show all sorts of degeneration, scoliosis, protrusions, squashed discs ....

I don't have RA, just some osteo in my spine, a couple of minor spots in shoulders. When I get foot pain or pins and needles in my feet now I can get them under control by moving, walking, etc. I recently had a caudal injection which worked for the leg and foot pain. That one gave me a sore tail bone for a week, but the pain is mostly gone again - for a while at least.

Clutz has suggested, "...your symptoms are similar to Plantar fasciitis." After studying this condion, I'm varily certain that this is my problem.

My best friend is a retired Podiatrist. We've had some conversation on this. Next time I'm able to visit with him in person, I'll learn more.
