I was in one of the first studies and had to drop out due to the side effects. A while later, I read that the stock of the company testing milnacipran (Savella) dropped because the study was NOT showing it to help with fibro pain. You can find this info on google. Later studies showed success so it was approved.
Most the people in my fibro support group had to stop taking it due to the side effects. I had to stop because it increased my blood pressure and resting heart rate a lot. It worked really well for one man I know, he's been on it for years. He still considers stopping it due to some side effects.
As with everything else, it may work for you or not, you won't know unless you try it.

I couldn't get past the first 3 doses. Really set off the autonomic nervous system.

I take Savella and have for over a year now. I've never really had any side effects from it. It helped a lot with my muscle pain at first, but I feel like it is not helping as much anymore. But remember, everyone reacts to different medicines differently.

Savella has helped me for over two years...Iwas lucky, no bad side effects. Good luck to you, I hope you find some relief!

I'm on it now.. no problems, although I do have to eat something before I take it, otherwise I'm nauseous. Works really well for me, started seeing results in 2 weeks. Hope it works for you too

I tried Savella. I didn't have a problem with it. It didn't do anything either. I know you're suppose to give a medicine a chance, but come on, after a few months? You know the old saying "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink?" , well you can take a pill, but you can't make it work!
