On a bad day, I try to dig out my favorite crafts and things I enjoy (music, movies, books, videos, etc.--just avoid the chocolate you enjoy, if you're like me :)). This seems to lift off the bad stuff and puts me in a better perspective. I also try to 'up' my prayer time a bit, and just tell all my troubles to God. That really takes a lot off my back.
Also, on those nastier day, I sometimes find it helpful to sit down and make a list of things I want to accomplish. Then I take baby steps to 'get there.' It puts me in a more positive frame of mind. I just keep reminding myself "Rome wasn't built in a day," and little by little, you can accomplish more than you think. I know some days seem impossible, but even baby steps can create a happier picture.
I think when the fog is at its worst, it's time to baby ourselves a bit and not feel guilty about it.
Recoveryme2day: Great point about medications! Something for each of us to consider.
