Huskergal...you are not alone. Morning sluggo time is my most favorite....NOT! Everyone here gets it. I give myself about 2-3 hours before I have to be at work so I can work out the kinks. Oh yeah...the kinks, creaks, aches and pains don't really get worked out, do they? But I do mentally prepare myself for how good or bad the day will be.
My normal morning routine: I beat the snot out of my alarm clock every 9 minutes 5 times in a row. Curse under my breath because I swear I only got to sleep 3 minutes before the alarm went off the first time. By now I've gaged how badly my arms and hands feel becuase I've used them to literally beat the clock. This leads to an assessment of how bad my headache is. It never goes away but does like to change what type I have, which side it's on and intense it's going to be. Now comes the best part...straighten legs and arms, flex hands and feet, twist back and hips. Drag myself out from the very warm comfort of my blankets to sit on the edge of the bed. Head pounds, wrists hurt, knees are 'locked' and up we go! Hold the edge of the bed in a desperate attempt to maintain balance and not fall down on the puppy. One, two tentative steps and it's off to the sink in the bathroom to guide me into the morning routine. Meds battle (I too forget to tell the pharmacy to put the non-child proof lids on), eye squinting, limping downstairs (seems like it takes an eternity...why did I buy a 2-story house!) and drudge into the kitched to start the coffee. I've asked my kids and/or husband to open the pills I can't get to, pour my coffee because my wrist is too weak to maintain control of the darned coffee pot, put the lid on my travel cup and help carry things to the car.
If I'm lucky I've left mysefl enough time to find all the list that I'd already forgotten I put in places that I'd remember. Grab coffee to go, limp to the car, throw on the darkest sunglasses I have and phych myself up for the rest of the journey.
Just the beginning of any adventure! :) But you know, when I wake up on the right side of the roots I know it's going to be a good day...considering the alternative.
