I know that people with fibro have a hard time getting into the REM sleep and that's when the body starts to heal itself. Lack of sleep and not getting into the REM sleep can cause more pain. Neat, huh?
I don't take sleeping medications. I put myself on a sleep schedule and go to bed the same time every night and get up around the same time every morning. I never lay in my bed durning the day. My body is now "trained" to know that when I go to bed I to to sleep. I do keep a TV on when I first go to bed. My husband got me in that habit. But I'm asleep about 15 minutes later.
I do get up several times in the middle of the night but fall right back to sleep. Sometimes I'll be asleep and then my eyes pop open for no reason! LOL But, then again, I go right back to sleep. So you might want to try this. I hope it works for you like it does for me.
