Well, I was looking at this forum for some advice on my asthma, But, saw many people commenting on fibromyalgia. well, here goes. I have been dealing with fibormyalgia on and off for years since a car accident and it especially reared its ugly head after fighting lymes disease and the horrible joint pains and other symptoms -- for about
18 months (huge doess of antibitotics, totally under control now, but -----.The problem was that i had a tick bite and the horrible bullseye and spent six months stalling because i had no symptoms at all. THEN, the rubber the hit the road and I was down and out about
six months after the tickbite and bullseye. i paid dearly for stalling. Don't stall go asap. My husband had a similar bullseye some immediately flu symptoms though and went on the antibiotis for thirty days -- never had a symptom since it's been three years.
Well anyway, the lymes specialist I was seeing who is one of yhe top aurhorities on Lymes in the country. First thing she did hand in hand with the very expensive antibiotics, was insist I take Vitamin D 500 mgs. Iflora, (probiotics) every day,
The Dr. was adament that the lymes loved sugar, gluten and dairy and made the cure time longer. Of course, I didn't believe her because essentially she was putting the kabash on the staples of my diet. I was so in denia! that the lymes would thrive based on my diet! But, I knew I needed to especially boost my immune system at this time.
So I cut down on dairy and slowly weaned myself off of wheat, when I due have wheat it's high fiber and whole wheat.
But I found some really great gluten free products and love corn.
Of course carbs turn to sugar. Anyway, I'm rambling, here we go. Anyway, the lymes pain started turning slowly into serious fibromyalgia. Then I finally really cut down on the diary after reading an article about it's causing fibromyalgia. I didn't believe it, but said i w ould do without for two weeks. I had to acquire a taste for Almond not crazy about soy and you shouldn't overdo the soy. But now a ice cold glass of almond milk does the trick. wow! And it works for cakes terrific actually, cereals good not definitely better than no milk!!!! i still have dairy as a occasional treat and make sure I don't over indulge. It's hard to stay away 100% from cheese when socializing.
So many problems I had are gone seriously. (I do not have crones (spelling). The almond milk is loaded with Vitamin D and calcium and ONLY 60 CALS FOR 8 OUNCES, LESS THAN SKIM MILK I THINK.
Try it, give it a try wean yourself off the milk and dairy products. If you must have butter try warm olive oil with basil, garlic or your favorite seasoings. I love sweet corn with no butter or salt -- who would have thought.
I still have a lot of high fiber, whole grain (NO WHITE BREAD AT ALL), lots of oats. As you can see, I still cheat with carbs, my true weakness, but I've made a real effort cutting down on these.
But I sleep at night and have literally think I have no fibromyalgia and the lymes is in full remission. My asthma is an occasional problem because I have a load of triggers.
Remember, some of these illnesses that have been created by our diet, chemicals in our diet, processed foods, are big business in this country. Medicines, foods, doctor bills, do they want us cured? Think about that. Focus on your diet thing about the fact that we are beings that were created to eat natural foods without preservatives, hormones, salt ( we need some for our system), etc. etc. I'm not a vegan, but only have beef as a real treat no more than once a month. We eat a lot of chicken and seek out hormone free chicken. There's a lot of that out there.
All these changes are in the last eight months or so.
