 I know I'm tired, have a headache...yada yada yada....  but trying to read things on the computer (for work) everything is blurry,  - yes, just today, yes just got new glasses in June,  its going to be a long long day.  does anyone else have problems with their eyes at times?

yes, absolutely.
I have been to several eye doctors in the past several years and they all say something different but come to the same conclusion. I have farsidedness in one eye, nearsightedness in the other eye and astigmatism. I also have worsening close up vision due to age. But even with all that they say that my vision isn't very bad its just over use, stress, dryness, allergy reactions, weakened muscles...........no matter who or how I still end up with glasses that do me no good and blurry vision. It comes and goes. Somedays I won't hardly notice and somedays its so bad I cant see what I am writing or reading on the computer (which I use all day - work).
My sister tells me to see and opthamologist instead of an optomitrist. They are eye "doctors" and are interested in the health of your eyes, not the vision itself. So, because of all these "blurry" issues I am going to make an appointment....soon, I hope.??

Hi council lady,

Funny you should ask that question today. I have that problem often. I find that being tired and having dry eyes contribute to the problem. I wear contacts so this can make it worse at times. I often find that my vision changes day to day. I can go to the eye Dr one day and go through the exam and decide on a prescription and come back 3 days later and that prescription doesn't work. I often will go back after having a trial pair of contacts to make sure everything is still good before I order. I rarely change my glasses prescription because my eyes can be so finicky.

Yes I have more vision problems now. Things are blurry sometimes even with glasses. Sometimes my field of vision overlaps like I'm cross-eyed-crazy illness

Mainly I need glasses for reading and since I lose everything the second I put it down, I go to Dollar Tree where reading specs are $1. I buy a half dozen at a time and sprinkle them everywhere-lol.

From what I've learned in the past few days that I've become a FibroGeek is that the eyes are affected because we have muscles in our eyes too

I have eye problems where light and light colours are concerned. They sky, on especially bright but overcast days... a light coloured wall that is well lit... the computer screen... all these things cause eye issues for me, it almost looks like the shadows on rippling water or something. I don't know how else to describe it. I have a lot of trouble in these situations

I have all kinds of eye issues, pain, both dull and sharp, dry eyes, watering eyes, and blurry eyes. Today I noticed that I couldn't read the power point slides during a meeting at work. Not good...I need progressive lenses because the lines and changes in either regular or no line tri-focals make me dizzy and give me a headache. The last time I got a pair of glasses they were over $500...

Has anyone tried Zenni Optical? Online glasses that are cheaper...but I've wondered if I could do without the frequent tweaks I always seem to need to tolerate my glasses.

I have been wearing the glasses purchased from Zenni Optical for one year. They helped me dump the intense headaches from squinting to see. 1.57 free-form progressive lenses, anti-reflective, anti-scratch and UV protective coatings, as well as memory titanium frame totally cost me $50 including shipping. Couldn’t be happier.

I have the now-you-see-it, now-you-don't syndrome where my eyes are concerned. I definitely believe that my changing vision is due to fibro. A few years ago I couldn't pass my eye exam one day, so I waited a few days and went back. The second time I was able to read everything perfectly.

I have eyeglasses available to help sharpen distance vision for those oddball times when my eyesight goes on the fritz, but since I've already had Lasik surgery and hardly every feel the need to wear them, I didn't want a permanent restriction on my driver's license. I do keep them in the vehicle 'just in case', but I never wear them at home or at work.

Fibro sure does crazy things some days, but like applevenus said, when you consider the fact that we have muscles in our eyes it's definitely understandable.

My eyes have gone blurry a few times even though i have 20/20 vision. It could be related to small intestine bacterial overgrowth if i have it cuz i ve read that happens to people with it alot amongst many symptoms

My eyes often feel strained, like I have a hard time keeping them focused and aligned. I have a mild prescription but keep on going back to my eye doctor thinking that my eyes have gotten worse. It feels like they have, but every time I go back he tells me that my eyes are the same that they have been for years.

For the past few months, my eyes have also been burning, which naturally is usually accompanied with blurriness. The other week it was so bad I was curled up in pain... couldn't keep my eyes open, but closing them was painful too. No-one seems to give me a straight answer as to why this happens *shrugs* I just hope it isn't serious...

Tonight I noticed that my vision was blurred and I was straining to see the screen. I shut one eye and things looked great... shut the other one and "whoa" -- vision on the right is not so good!! I had to dig out some reading glasses so I'm good to go again.

Interesting connection: I was at the chiropractor today because I woke up with a nasty kink in the right side of my neck and have been in pain all day whenever I try to turn it or tilt it toward the right. He said to ice it four times tonight.

It's frustrating because I have been battling fluid/pressure in my middle ear canal and the treatment for that is just the opposite -- warm, moist packs. I guess I'll fix the kink first and then try to get my ears/sinuses straightened out.

I get ocular migraines occasionally...everything looks really distorted, kind of wavy looking. Earlier this year, I was seeing bright blue flashes. My opthamologist was concerned about retina detatchment and I had my eyes dialated and examined 5 differant times...even had a retina specialist check me out...Luckily I was OK and no longer seeing blue flashes.

Hayfever season plays havoc with my eyes...the itching and watering is a nuisance. I cannot take allergy meds with the meds I take, but do have some prescription drops that help somewhat.

I'm so thankful for my vision :)

I have chronic dry eye and have had Central Serous Retinopathy 3 times. (sp) My eye leaked. So it is always blurry. I see through a shadow. There is no fixed for it last time I went to doctor.. It is caused by stress they think. Ya think?

Yes... wasn't sure what to attribute it to - fibro, surgical menopause or just getting older.... it drives me CRAZY. Cannot read any small print anymore and I used to be 20/15. Wish it would reverse.

I have problems with this all the time. My eye doctor says that there are two reasons for my blurriness. 1) I have Sjrogrens which is basically draining all the fluid from my eyes and 2) some of the medication I'm taking has side effects that cause just that problem. He gave me n antibiotic that helps the vessels repair so the tear ducts can do their job and also some eye drops , cortisone that really helped but can't be used 23/7. Also using Restasis

All that said, my eyes are still blurry and still dry.

Hope you find help somewhere, I know, I would appreciate any information anyone has on this issue because I have not been able find any solutions.

I have days when my eyes are good and then many more days where I just can't read due to blurriness. I had my eyes tested in December and they are healthy and I am supposed to wear glasses to read and drive but I wear mine all the time and I also wear reading glasses from the dollar store to actually read.

You have to be careful though because that could be dozens of illnesses. Diabetes is #1 when it comes to mind. I have Diabetes and my eyes are affected by that. I'm on the verge of Glaucoma and will see how it is next visit, next month. But I have the same issues. It gets worse with being tired though! My right side of my face always hurts from eye down. Who knows what it is or why it does it. I probably should see an Allergist because it could be from that as well. Geez, life sucks for us don't it? :)
