Hi~
I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with the pain in your wrists. From your descript
ion is sounds like it's a sharp type of pain. I have a lot of arthritis in my hands so I can sympathize with you. It's frustrating to have so much pain in a hand/wrist that looks perfectly fine yet is won't behave itself. I am constantly dropping things and that's infuriating also.
I did some reading on the NIH (National Institute of Health) website and found a lot of information on this topic. Here's the link if you're interested.
www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003175.htmIt looks like there can be a whole lot of different problems that can cause your type of pain and the only way to find out is to have a doctor diagnose it. I've gone through 4 hand surgeries form things like carpel tunnel and 'trigger finger'... that last one is no fun.(I have another one that's ready for surgery but am being lazy about
getting to it..) If I were in your position I would get a referral to an
orthopedic surgeon and see what they have to say.
One thing I did find on another site was: "When to see a doctor" Here's the reply.
Not all wrist pain requires medical care. Minor sprains and strains, for instance, usually respond to ice, rest and over-the-counter pain medications. But if pain and swelling last longer than a few days or become worse, see your doctor. Delays in diagnosis and treatment can lead to poor healing, reduced range of motion and long-term disability.Good luck and keep in touch..
