Before fibro, chiropractors helped me. After fibro, I could barely walk out of their office.
Your chiropractor??? The moment he said that fibromyalgia was a garbage can diagnosis, I would have stood up, told him that I would not have anyone working on my pain-ridden body that didn't know what they were talking about, and then I would have walked out. Period. Such ignorance and such arrogance! And they call themselves a "doctor"????
Massage helps me a lot....GENTLE massages. I would never go into a massage place and let them work on me if I didn't feel they really understood this illness. Many don't and their answer to everything is a deep massage. My massage therapist says that deep massages are rarely needed and can do more harm than good BUT they can charge more for the deep massages.
My massage therapist is a member of the site that I'm linking you to. They have to take courses all of the time in order to continue membership. My MT has certificates all over her office. She has studied how to massage fibro patients, myofacial patients, and even cancer patients. There is a technique to use for the various illnesses. This link will help you find one in your area. Mine isn't any more expensive than the typical massage therapist, either. I hope this helps you.
