This question is just for my own curiosity

Everyone I have met with Fibro smokes. I am a smoker as well.

How many of you smoke ?

My problem is that I almost need two cigarettes in one sitting because I don't feel its enough. I know sounds bad. I don't smoke around anyone & very polite about the habit.

Hi Sarah,

I smoked many years ago. I just wanted to share with you that being around smoking makes my fibro much worse and I find it very difficult to breathe.

I hope you'll consider quitting. It would be interesting to know if you felt better if you did quit than perhaps you could share with others if you feel better or not.

I've never smoked. I lived for two years with a roommate whose boyfriend smoked, that second hand smoke was the most exposure I had in my life. My sister-in-law with fibro used to smoke but gave it up years before her diagnosis, I have two other friends with fibro who don't currently smoke but I don't know if they did in the past.

I still harbor the suspicion that diet coke might have been what caused my fibro...I was a major addict. I gave it up entirely nearly three years ago, but I think it was too late.

Hi Sarah, I also smoked many years ago. However, cigarette smoke does not bother me at all...my hubby still smokes. He did quit for 11yrs.and then he had a lot of stress in his life. We went out one friday night after work, and after he had a few drinks he thought he would have a cigar, this would help him relax. Was not a good idea as this stated him right back up. That is why I could not even have a puff or I would be right back at it. I don't even crave it anymore it's been 20yrs.

Hopefully you get some other members outlook on it.

I was a two-pack-a-day smoker in my twenties. I quit 16 years ago.

I do not like to be around smokers now. it's not the smoke but the smell which really bothers me. Even afterwards, I can still smell the residue.

I had one puff ten years ago after a tornado hit, and I almost threw up.
