I was just wondering. I have been feeling ill since fall of last year 2010. After much testing I was recently dx in Sept with fibromyalgia. I have had to resign from my job of 10 years this past October. I tried to go back part time and it didn't work.
My question is how come some people with FM are able to work and some aren't? I have 2 very different friends. One works full time and the other has been on disability for a while. I haven't been able to work fully since June of this year. I hated to give up my career that I worked so hard for; yet my family has suggested that I try to apply for disability.
I am 38 years old and even though I am young I feel much older. My health has declined and now it is a struggle to do much of anything. This has become very debilitating. But I was hoping I could get this under control and get back to some sort of life...eventually. Maybe I could get my meds worked out and could go back to work. I have worked since I was 15 so this is all new to me and very depressing.
Could anyone tell me what the difference is? How come some can work and others can't. I know everyone is different but...when do you know it is time to apply and when do you know for sure that it is the right decision???
